Are these people too weak to accept the truth; why do they believe?

If you say it comes from "within" then clearly there is a problem "within". You either have some sort of twisted inferiority complex, or there is a chemical imbalance in your brain.

I realize that people who believe are perfectly fine, and I'm not saying that Atheists are better than Theists/Deists from an intrinsic standpoint, merely a logical one.

Also no it is not easier to believe in God than Darwinian evolution, in fact that is not my "style" of thinking at all. And if it were, then it would even then be the other way around.

SirWill, your point is well taken, however there is evidence beyond a reasonable doubt against your statements, which is bordering on unequivocal, and it still is not related to the question.

For the person who said that there is no unequivocal evidence AGAINST the existence of God, and therefore you believe in him, you are a moron. 1) I could apply that to Zeus, Hera, Apollo, IPU, FSM, etc. 2) This statement would lead to the opposite logical conclusion. 3) I might have to report you for stupidity.

To Suspendor of Disbelief, yes, I could prove to you that George Bush exists, however you can prove it to yourself and it already has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt, which is again bordering on the unequivocal. Also it seems like to prove that to you would be a waste of human resources.

To those who use love as a proof of God, love is a chemcial reaction in the brain, not a some sort of gift from God. Get over it.

Discovery of our universe can be interpreted as evidence in support of the conclusion that our universe is part of an infinity, divinity, eternally one that manifests as an infinite four. Discovery of our universe can also be interpreted as evidence in support of the conclusion that our universe is an entity on to itself. Given the limitations imposed upon our senses and perceptions by the alien fractal infernal temporal infinitesimal characteristic attributes of our seed bodies and given the limitations of the alien, fractal, infernal, temporal tools of science, I simply can not know for sure whether our universe is a part of an infinity, divinity eternally one that manifests as an infinite four or an entity on to itself. The universe as evidence supports both theories.

How is it that finite scientists can use their finite fractal infernal temporal tools to quantify infinity, qualify divinity, measure the duration of eternity, and know all that there is to know about the totality of existence? They cannot. Just because they cannot does not mean that our universe is an entity on to itself. Maybe it means that an infinity, divinity, eternally one remains hidden to scientifically reproducible discovery because scientists are too limited in their abilities to gather evidence, make inferences and draw conclusions. Scientists devote much of their energy, space and time to using the finite fractal infernal temporal tools of science to gather truth about what we can know and profiting by applying an understanding. Scientists generally don't concern themselves with myth and fantasy based on mystery in their work.

I think, believe and expect that my extreme myths are true because I do not know if my myths are true or false and because to think, believe and expect that my myths are true produces in my mind the most powerful emotional responses of joy, faith and love imaginable. With the most powerful emotional responses of joy, faith and love imaginable I balance the emotional responses of sad sorrow, mad fear, and bad anger produced by the discovery of the impending disease and death of my seed body. By balancing the emotive forces of the mind, I achieve and maintain happiness.

Suppose then that I choose to reject all myth and fantasy based on what is possible within the realm of mystery and choose instead to use only finite truth and knowledge based scientifically reproducible discovery to build a model of self and world that I use to orient myself towards existence and explain existence to self. Taking science at face value offers a rather grim model of self and world. This narrow limited point of view would lead me to conclude that our bodies are finite, fragile, and doomed to the oblivion of disease and death. In my mind, the discovery of impending disease and death of my seed body is enough to evoke powerful feelings of sorrow, fear, and anger. Without myth and fantasy based on mystery about the divine immunity of the soul and eternal life of the spirit, I would be without countervailing emotive forces of joy, faith and love. I need countervailing emotive forces of joy, faith and love to balance my mind against emotive forces of sorrow, fear, and anger that follow from the discovery of the impending disease and death of my seed body. I think, believe and expect that if my mind becomes unbalanced by powerful emotive forces of sorrow, fear and anger then I would be more likely to engage in sad, mad, and bad behavior. I expect that sad, mad and bad behavior would hinder my efforts to create, and survive in a competitive body consuming biosphere divided by a primal conflict between predator and prey. Therefore I think, believe and expect that from both a material and spiritual point of view, my energy, space and time is well spent building a model of self and world that includes both a foundation of truth and knowledge based on scientifically reproducible discovery that produces the most powerful physiological responses of good health possible and a framework of myth and fantasy based on mystery that when thought, believed and expected to be true produces the most powerful emotional responses of joy, faith and love that I can possibly imagine.

Its not even a challenge anymore, I know him! That's why its called a personal relationship. You dont have to be genius to get to know him. A lot of people will spend their entire life looking for the proof, when they are only a 30 second prayer away. I will tell you right now, no person will ever prove to you that God exists. Its totally up to you.

Can you scientifically prove to ME that George Bush exists? If I can't see him with my own eyes, and touch him with my own hands, how can I be sure he's not just a character, like James T Kirk??? I have a personal relationship with God. Sorry if you don't, but that's really not my problem, is it?

It appears that trying to prove the existence of God to you is also a waste of 'human resources'.

I don't know how to explain it to you. It's just a gut feeling of inner joy. If you regard God as simply the power of love--it needs no proof. Love exists, and many things are possible through it--courage and perseverance in the face of danger, certainly.

My advice--Don't look in the Bible for God. Look in yourself and then look outward, lovingly.

I have yet to find unequivocal evidence of there being NO God. That is why I believe in him.

By the way, for those who said they believe in him because of faith, faith is not blind. The Bible says that faith is based on the assured expectations of things not yet beheld. It's not blind, but we have a reason for our faith.

EDIT: You can't be that stupid!! Why is it that the "intelligent" people of this world are really the idiots?

I really don't care if you believe in God or not, it won't affect my life. You on the other hand are in for a RUDE awakening. Enjoy meeting your Creator. I'm glad I'm not as "smart" as you. I'm really going to be glad I'm a "moron" when judgment day comes!!!

People feel the evidence within tehmselves, some call it faith. I cant explain it in science terms but I do belive, I know HE exists for I exist. Anyway there isnt unequivocal evidence for the NON existense of God.

We have plenty of evidence for the existance of God, but too many people refuse to accept it. We have faith in God; I would call this a great strength, not a weakness. And anyways, if lack of evidence means that something isn't believable, why do people believe in evolution?

Their personal identities are so thoroughly wrapped up in their mythology that they won't reject it for any reason, not even unequivocal evidence. They will cling to their superstitions to the death, all the while proclaiming their willful blindness as "faith".

As if faith in the undetectable and unprovable is a good thing.

Three Words: Lee Strobel Books. Read them. Love Them. And Learn from them.
These show evidence for God that is unshakable. If you ask this question again afterwards, then I will know this is a lost cause.
Plus also, isn't that what faith is all about?

...In the absence of unequivocal evidence that the Bumble Bee can NOT fly... why do you believe it can...? Science can not prove that this insect can fly... it's wing to weight ratio is much to small, it cannot generate positive lift to compensate for it's anti-aerodynamic body... scientifically, it can not fly.
Do you believe it can...? Prove it ? !!!!! and while you doing that... prove to me with unequivocal evidence that the back side of the Moon is not made of "green cheese"...

Some of us have had spiritual experiences that tip our evidence in favor of the existence of the Gods.
Absence of proof doesn't mean they still can't exist. It just means there is no material, verifiable proof for them.
