Peroxitine (Paxil etc) is an SSRI prescribed for treatment of depression, OCD, panic attacks, anxiety and a number of other disorders. It is also prescribed as a treatment for premature ejaculation in males. It is a controversial medication due to its alleged cause of suicidal ideation and its withdrawal symptoms. For more info on this med type "peroxitine" into Yahoo! web search. A number of links comes up. Wikipedia has a good summary.

I have never been on peroxitine but have been a patient on other SSRI's for depression with good results (along with psychotherapy) and no ill effects except a decrease in Libido. For comments of others who have taken Paxil just type "paxil" into Yahoo! answers question search. Nearly 2 thousand questions comes up which you can peruse at leisure.

Good luck in your research, good metal health, peace and Love!

I'm guessing you mean paroxetine, which is generic for Paxil? I have been on that for years. it is horribly difficult to get off of it, the withdrawal is crazy. i even had the issue when they switched me from paxil to paxil cr and then to paroxetine.
