You need to run, run easy for 2 to 3 miles 3 to 5 times each week, until you are used to running and then start doing 2 days each week faster.
If you are going to be a distance runner then do a tempo run each week, and if you want to sprint then go to the track and do some 100 meter strides.

I have never used tryouts and we do not cut people from the track team.

If you have never run before it can take a long time to find your event so try different things.

Ask the coach what he thinks you should do and if you don't really know what you want to do try different things.

Would you do this at the highway, with a quick on-coming automobile? It is viable to have a educate move over you with out harm, however there are a load of 'Ifs': If you lay face down, toes toward the educate. If you're very skinny. If there is not any apparatus slung too low underneath the locomotive or autos. If there are not any dangling brake hoses, chains, brake beams. If you'll preserve flawlessly nonetheless. However, within the USA I'd say you had no risk. In Europe, wherein the railways are in general fenced-off, the educate wheels are covered from obstructions at the monitor via 'protect-irons' - huge vertical steel bars in entrance of the main wheels and approximately 2 inches above the rails. In the states, all locomotives have a 'pilot' in entrance - the historic-customary 'cowcatcher'. This heavy metal forging stretches proper around the entrance of the educate, from one rail to the opposite. Unless you're lower than six inches thick, omit it! Finally, even though this will likely sound like a fab trick, spare a idea for the engineer: out of the blue confronted with a individual laying at the monitor in entrance of him (or her) and not using a risk of preventing.
