1 bag "stew mix vegetables" (carrots, potatoes, celery and pearl onions)

After 1 hour, turn crockpot to low, add stew mix veggies and cook on low 6 hours until meat is cooked through and vegetables are tender.

Buy a nice bone-in Eye of round steak. Put in the bottom of the slow cooker. Cut up peeled potatoes into bite size pieces. Figure about 3 potatoes for 2 people. Also add baby carrots, and an onion or two. Add enough water to just cover toh vegetables. Add salt, pepper, garlic, and some worchester sauce. Turn on low before you go to bed and it will be ready for lunch, or turn on in the morning and it will be ready for supper. The onions and the carrots will take the longest so when those are soft, the meat and potatoes will be done. Cook on low rather than on high. While it may take an extra couple hours versus cooking on high the meat will be way more tender. I hope you enjoy this, my whole family, even my three kids love this recipe.

Start with chicken and dumplings. Put your whole chicken in and cover it with water and set it to cook in the morning. In the early afternoon, add potatoes, carrots, and celery. At the end, add the 'dumpling dough' (use a box of Bisquick and that recipe, or any 'biscuit' recipe) about 1/2 hour before you eat. Cover and let cook ... that is THE BEST 'first recipe' for someone with a new crock pot ... and you'll have the tastiest 'comfort food' to eat, too, when it's done. Enjoy your new crock pot.

Buy any beef or pork roast. Season it with salt, pepper and garlic powder (garlic powder is optional) and place the meat in the crock pot on low. Add one jar of your favorite salsa. Cook all day until the meat falls a part. The meat may then either be eaten as is with your favorite side dishes, or used for tacos or burritos! This is easy and delicious. Enjoy!

Here is one complex recipe.

One whole chicken with giblets removed. A couple sprigs of rosemary. Put all ingredients in the crock pot in the morning and set it to low.
Come home and enjoy the smells while you prepare the rest of the dinner.
Remove the chicken carefully as it will probably want to fall apart.

Place pork ribs in crock pot, add BBQ sauce, [I use home made, but jar is OK too] add just a little water. Put on low and let cook all day. Tender, melt in your mouth ribs! Can be done with beef ribs too

A crack pot is good for just about anything. It's what you feed it. A proven recipe is to turn the crack pot on high and then put small black birds in and cook them for 45 min. The aroma will astound you!!
