I read in a nutrition book for animals that you can use papaya tablets (you can buy them at a health food store) or real papaya for this problem. It has digestive enzymes in it, tastes sweet, and is good for dogs. (This also works for some humans...)

I really wouldn't do that if I were you. I know it's easy to just give the animal something around the house that you think will work, but you really don't know if it can be tolerated by "your best friend". I believe you can go into any veterinary place and get what you need for your dogs gas.
