currently I have cable that where some channels they play 720P but some also play 1080i. It says broadcast format support 1080i, but it also says broadcast format display 720p.
Will it play those channels in 1080i or is it only in 720P? Please check out the link. Thanks

Thanks for the reply..

What I don't understand is..

Broadcast Format Supported and Broadcast Format Displayed.. under supported it says 1080i but under displayed it says 720P. All I want to know is if it will play my 1080i cable TV channels.

Thanks for the feedback yet again. I will still get the TV regardless probably, i'm just curious for when it says Broadcast supported: 1080i and Broadcast Display: 720P.. will it play the channels in 1080i if it is 1080i channels or not? Thats all I really want to know. I don't know what broadcast supported nor display means.

Regardless of the input, your TV will scale all sources and play them in its native resolution.
So, if you have a 720p TV, everything is scaled to be played at 720p, even Standard def.

Don't worry about 1080i sources being scaled to the native resolution of your tv (720p). The picuture is still very good and very few people can tell the difference between the quality of a 720p source and a 1080i source on a 720p TV. Both look identical.
