Buy her a US savings bond- in 10 or 15 years, she can cash it in for twice the amount you bought it for- if you buy a $50 one, she'll get $100. Or you could buy a $100 one. My sister does this for my kids' birthdays, Christmas, etc. and I love it. They'll be able to use the money for their first cars, for college, etc. I find it so much more meaningful than clothes or toys that will just be forgotten. You'll need your neices SS#. Hope this helps~

a ride on toy is always the coolest thing, especially one that converts to sit on or walk behind, but it might also be a great idea to give a small gift (like previously suggested, christmas ornament, book, etc.) and give the rest of the money to mom to be placed in a savings account, it is never too soon to start saving for college and every little bit counts!

The baby will wan toys. If you get something else it is more of a gift for mom to ohhhh and ahhh at.
I say get her a big toy, such as a little tikes kitchen, slide or playhouse. She will LOVE those toys and it something that she will play with for a few more years yet.

If you want to make mom happy, get a small gift for baby (an ornament, toy, or book) and a gift certificate to have baby's pictures taken!!

I bought my granddaughter a baby bracelet made of gold with a very tiny diamond on it. I got it on sale at Penney's for about $70.00. Girls are never to young to learn about jewelry and if she learns early, she will respect her pieces. You can always get her jewelry in the future and add to her collections.
