--USE THE 2 schools for strength!

1. Isotonic--

--"In an isotonic contraction, tension rises and the skeletal muscle's length changes. Lifting an object off a desk, walking, and running involve isotonic contractions."
--There are two types of isotonic contractions: (1) concentric and (2) eccentric. In a concentric contraction, the muscle tension exceeds the resistance and the muscle shortens. In eccentric, the muscle lengthens due to force greater than which the muscle can produce.

2. Isometric:
Isometric exercise or "isometrics" are a type of strength training in which the joint angle and muscle length do not change during contraction (compared to concentric or eccentric contractions, called isotonic movements). Isometrics are done in static positions, rather than being dynamic through a range of motion. The joint and muscle are either worked against an immovable force (overcoming isometric) or are held in a static position while opposed by resistance (yielding isometric)"

--AS A FORMER still rings champion in college, I loved the exercise activity on the rings and other apparatus, but weight training was also instrumental in my early high school sports activity.
--AT PRESENT , my age of 64 , limits me as to having lasting energy, but my regular use of isometric and limited isotonic exercises has kept my strength dispite being in a coma for 8 days in 1990!

Lots of exercise, weight training, plenty of sleep (but not too much. 6 - 7 hours ), and eat a high carbohydrate, low fat diet.
Do this every day and you'll soon be gaining in physical strength.
