A regular crown (not a stainless steel) can be done on any adult tooth at any time. In most cases someone your age it is due to trauma, fracturing a large portion of the tooth off, but in some cases it is due to decay. Crowns can be expensive and every area is different. In our area crowns are $600.00-$1000.00 depending on who you go to.

Umm, I hate to point out the obvious, MK, but Jess is 15 years old-- NOT an adult. And it doesn't sound like the crowning would have anything to do with trauma to the teeth. In fact, I had a tooth broken in half at age ten, and no dentist would put a crown on that tooth until I was 18 years old. I think you missed the boat on your answer.

You probably can't just yet-- most dentists prefer to crown teeth on patients 18 years or older. And the cost of a crown will depend on the material (porcelain, procelain fused to metal, gold, etc.) and depends on what tooth is being crowned.

JESS,

EACH CASE IS DIFFERENT AND YOUR DENTIST WOULD KNOW BEST IF YOU DO. AS FAR AS THE COST, JUST CALL HIM/HER AND ASK.
