I have never heard that Vitamin A supposedly causes cancer. I hear it helps prevent cancer and other diseases. It helps prevent cancer in that it acts as an antioxidant getting rid of toxins and neutralizing free radicals. It also strengthens our immune systems.

Vitamin A is toxic in levels over 100,000 I.U. daily taken for long periods of time. That is a lot of Vitamin A. The R.D.A. is 5,000 I.U. Nutritionists recommend 5,000 - 10,000 I.U. daily. One time I was taking a vitamin pill that contained 17,000 I.U. I asked my doctor if that was o.k. and he said yes, but it may start to cause dry skin. I did get dry skin, so I reduced my daily amount to 10,000 I.U. daily.
