No, it won't affect you. I joined the army back in 99 and I had the same allergy as you. There's no reason why you should ever be exposed to cats in the line of duty so it's a non issue.
And if you've outgrown the asthma, that also won't affect you.

OK-here's the straight 'poop'. When you go to MEPS to get your physical done, you will have a questionaire to fill out. (I have been in for thirteen years now, and it may have changed) When you get to the Asthma question (it should be a two part question) check YES for 'have you ever had asthma?' Check NO for the 'did you have it after age 12?' IF it's the honest to God truth. You can also get a medical waiver if you did have it after age 12 (from what one of my friends who has Asthma told me-I just called him!) I had Psoriasis that I outgrew at age ten and when I went through MEPS I checked YES for the Psoriasis part and No for the age part. The thing is, my Psoriasis came back a few years ago. The reason behind you doing this is IF your Asthma comes back (hey, you never know!) while you are in the Army, you can file for disability from the VA and you could possibly get a medical discharge and disability payments from the Army also. As far as I know, Asthma without the nebulizer is an automatic 30%. With the nebulizer, it is 50%. I am getting out on a medical retirement (not for the Psoriasis) but for my VA claim, since the Psoriasis came back, I can claim that as being aggravated by my military service.

You should be fine. I have always had asthma, but not real bad. When I joined the Army I was fine through basic training until I got to the "Gas Chamber!" I thought I would loose it, but I think I just panicked mostly believing that it was my asthma to blame. In all honesty, you should be fine. I went through all 13 weeks of basic training in Ft.Jackson, SC during Mid-June to August "without" my inhaler. I was in for 8yrs.

If you have outgrown it, then dont write it down on your medical history. Minor allergies wont be a problem. Go for it.

After the age of 12 it is disqualifying. If you lie about it and have an attack during training you could be seriously injured, and also found guilty of enlistment fraud. I would speak to a couple recruiters.

the only people who know the answer to this are military doctors at MEPS when you get processed to join. They are the ones who decide if its bad enough to prevent you from enlisting, or if its bad enough to restrict you from certain jobs. You need to get a hold of a recrutier to start the process of finding out

No, you won't have a problem enlisting. However, when and if you do enlist, you will have to tell them that you are allergic to cats when they go through your medical history

Go to college instead, if you are looking for excitement become a paramedic or a firefighter, do something USEFUL with your life, other than wasting 4+ years in the military.
