I need this for an experiment because every time I heat it up with an incandescent light bulb it has a reasonable increase in temperature. The beer bottle is also redish maybe from the iron oxide i guess.

Glass is an electrical insulator but a thermal conductor (not a really good one but it does conduct heat). Glass will not conduct any electricity. You are right that the colors in glass are usually created by the addition of metallic compounds.

Definitely an insulator, one of the better ones in fact. High dieletric strength and a reasonable dielectric constant. Almost a decent material for capacitors.
