If he goes outside, he has likely picked up worms -- this is VERY common. I say take him to the vet and have him de-wormed.

Maine Coons are very large cats, most are 12-15lbs +. His weight is NOT normal - have him checked out

If you have had him to the vet, he is not wormy and he is otherwise in good health, you need to get him a high quality wet cat food (I like Avo-cat - your vet may have something also) to go with high quality dry food left out all the time. If he does not improve in a week or two, it is time to recheck with the vet. He may have something subtle (FIP comes to mind) or he may need his teeth cleaned. good luck

There is something wrong, you need to take him to a vet for a thorough check up. I too suspect worms, or similar.

We have three male cats.

Treats, treats, and more treats!
Also wet food.
But not to much!
This may result to diarrhea for the cat.
If that dosen't work, seek a vet.
Bless you and your cat!

he could have tape worms....this keeps him from getting fat...if he ever had fleas then he probally has tape worms. fleas, after they are swallowed turn into tape worms. and cats lick themselves constantly.
