Many fundamentalist Christians will tell you that god causes earthquakes and other natural disasters to punish man. Apparently, god likes to throw his weight around every now and then to demonstrate how tough he is and show who is boss - An unusual way to behave for someone who is supposed to be all-powerful and all-knowing...

However, why do earthquakes occur on the moon? There are no people on the moon. Does god have poor eyesight and miss his Earthly target, or is he just practicing? Actually, he can’t miss because he’s god, and gods don’t need to practice.

So…

Any other thoughts?

answer man: Your name is a little deceptive. However, I have two words for you: Hurricane Katrina. While not an earthquake the question still remains. Do you care to live up to your misleading moniker?

Well, I should say, theyre not called earthquakes if they occur on the moon - theyre called moonquakes. Read about it if you like.

Many people are confused about the physical world around them. When they see despair due to disasters, they feel a need to ask why these things happen rather thean just accept the fact that they do. And with lack of a reasonable explanation they assume God did it.

Many try to "blame" God for alot of things that happen- but if you read what Jesus said in the new testament- He said these things were going to happen- equal to that of a woman having birth pains.
Matthew 25 is a good place to read too

it really depends on what you believe. do you believe that god created the universe... the moon included or do you belive that god created earth. i don't really know what i believe in at times. the only truth that i can actually find logic is in that we are all god. we all have the power within us. we decide what to put out power in and how to use it. everything really does have a scientific explanation... like earthquakes, tornadoes and all natural disasters. what's important is not who you belive in but that you believe in something and that you beliwve in yourself and all of the personal power you have to work with. god may guide but you decide.... don't get me wrong ... it's really important that you believe in someone.. god, buddah, alla... but, what's more important is that you believe that a bit of power you have is in yourself... make that power strong and put it to good use to yourself and your neighbor!

god does it do punish us and god is the boss he is in control of everything if he wants a earthquake to happen he will have it happen if he wants a tsunami to happen it will happen like i said god is in control of everything. just believe don't question him for as it is written only the fool says in his heart there is no god it is also written they will be ever hearing but never understanding be ever seeing but never perceiving make the heart calloused make their ears dull and close their eyes otherwise they might see with their eyes hear with ears understand with their hearts and turned and be healed. so open your eyes and hear with your ear and believe on the name of the lord and you will be saved
