I used to meditate in this way. I read bible a portion like psalms or any epistles of Paul or Jacob etc. Then read some particular verses that seems important for my present situation and read again and again seeking what God wants to emphasis. Try to find out what is God"s part , what is my part that God wants me to look or do. If there is any warning or ways shown in that like things and meditate on this as long as possible. I usually find many things and peace to go on and used to see things change, blessings come etc.

It is irrespective of the person who is doing this just any one can do and get Gods blessings. God is not a respecter of person. He loves all. He accepts all the same they are. He sees only good in us.

I don't meditate per se but when I get very stressed I think.

I try to calm myself down, tune out everything else, and consciously make myself think in words. It makes me focus. That sound ridiculous. But, for example, when I'm so angry that my head hurts, I can't organize my thoughts, my stomach tightens up and I'm about ready to scream I think to myself "it's okay... calm down... just roll your shoulders back... take a deep breath... finish filing in the form... turn it in... then you can go home and relax... just seven more questions to go." It helps me keep a level head.

I've done a lot of public speaking in the past.... this semi-form of meditation helped me work through stage fright.

Which type of meditation are you looking to learn about? There are different 'schools' of meditation, and techniques that work better for different people.

I just lie down on my back while focusing on breathing deeply, tensing my stomach muscle when I breath in, and relaxing it when I breath out. I focus on what ever emotions I have, that I want to get more comfortable with. I do it whenever I can find the time, and feel the need.
