It is a lie to claim that myth is truth. The affirmation of an ability to know about the existence of a good one in Heaven at war with an evil one cast down to and ruling over Earth is a fraud that follows from the lie that myth is truth. Conservative ideological authorities perpetrate this fraud inorder to be able; to make threats against the life and or afterlife of anybody who does not submit to their authority; and to extort from communities of faithful believers tithes and offerings in exchange for a lifelong indoctrination in a standard of conduct that these same ideological authorities proclaim to be the discovery of the truth about the will of a good one in Heaven at war with and evil one cast down to and ruling over Earth.

Religion has always for profit managed to keep repeating lies long enough for generations to have grown up hearing them so many times that truth is assumed

I wish people in here would stop using the word MYTH
Myth is a story form teaching of an innate Truth held within the human spirit
such that when the story is told a feeling arises within as an emotional ring recognizing the universal truth in the story

The Gods of Religion always are something OUTSIDE
there is only a response of fear emptiness evoked from the stories of Religion
they are atrocities that rob the human spirit of it's greatness
and such is the purpose
as long as man remains in ignorance of the life that lives within him and her those who manage to live well off of us need never fear losing the income of their tyranny

By having a dogma
unreachable
unattainable for as long as you can remember and for as long as you can expect to live

that which you are in
and can touch taste smell see and hear
is completely robbed from you by that dogma

and as long as your present moment is withheld from you
your future is also stolen
and with no future, your imagination is worthless for instead of your dreams you only have another's very empty never to be fulfilled words
they are indeed lies in the fullest of definition

I agree that many religious leaders spout off alot of oppinion that we can't prove concerning their interpretation of the bible. But as far as God goes, He has proven to me that He is real. Rather than through the whole idea out, do what I did when I wanted to know. Go right to the source. I prayed before I knew if He was real, "God, if you're real, get me a bible." I couldn't afford one but I was interested and wondering if there was something to all this God Jesus stuff. Within 2 days by a chance encounter I was given a bible. Some girl left some clothes in my sister-in-law's best friend's trunk. Neither her or my s-i-law could fit into them so the girl said to give them to me because she saw me because I lived downstairs from my in-laws and I was small. There was a beautiful jacket in with those clothes. I tried it on and when I put my hands in the pockets, there was a small new testament! The girl who gave them to me didn't know it was there either and she wasn't even a Christian. I have countless of times God has answered my prayers miraculously like that in such a way that I know for sure now that He exists.

Peace.

His Glory.

Myth is metaphor and it uses a metaphor to teach a spiritual psychological truth about the human experience. So myth is truth. Ignore the knowledge, the poetry and the lessons learned in 100,000 years of human experience at your own peril. Ignore who we were, what we are ,and how the human mind interprets symbols and you will live in a very, very, sad and dull machine world.

For something so illogical, and fraud wrought, you sure are paying an awful lot of attention to it. It seems to me if it was so fraudulent and full of myths, people would fall away from it because they would soon find there was no comfort or power in following it or Him in this case. But you see, your argument falls apart here. It has been over 2000 (two thousand) years and the gag as you find it is still alive and well. I ask you now, who really is the foolish one?

People vote based on their views.
That's the American way.
Maybe you should found a nation which will be formed around your views.
You could force people to believe as you do.
You could outlaw religion.
Oh, wait they tried that already and Mao, Stalin and Pol Pot murdered tens of millions right after outlawing religion.
Good luck and keep us posted on how it goes.

Why do you get on here and ask questions like that that are just going to piss people off?

If you ignore them, and don't tell them they're wrong, then they'll go on thinking that they're right, and not bother you.
If you don't advertise the fact that you don't believe the same way that they do, they won't know, and they won't try to preach at you, or convert you.

And we can all just ignore each other's religious beliefs and be happy. Like it says in the Bible.

I just came across your old question. Hope that after all these years somehow you have changed your mind.

To answer your question, one thing is religious leadings lying to you; and another is, God lying to you. God does not lie. While we know men lie. In the Bible God clearly states that He does not lie, and in his Word we find much proof of that in that Bible prophecies get fulfilled in time all the time without fail.

The prophecy you stated in part that the devil was hurled down to earth is a prophecy that has already began to be fulfilled, and right now we are living in the midst of its fulfillment.

In that prophecy which is cited at Revelation 12:12 says that the devil knows he has only “a short period of time” and that is why he is full of rage in “great anger” as he knows his time is running out.

These are all Bible prophecies connected to each other and being fulfilled as we speak. Note these were written about 2,000 years ago, and now we are seeing these things happening right now on earth in these “times”:

Revelation 12: 9, 12 “9 So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him…. 12 On this account be glad, you heavens and you who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing that he has a short period of time.”

Luke 21: 10, 11 “10 Then he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 There will be great earthquakes, and in one place after another food shortages and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and from heaven great signs.”

Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man that he should tell lies.”

Titus 1:2 says that “God . . . cannot lie.”
