I have a son who is new in this area and having hard time finding someone to date. He is handsome but shy which is his main problem. Where could he go that is fun and best chance to meet some girls?

Yeah, I guess basically the nightclubs in and around downtown are where most of them are at.
But there are other scenes...the art galleries, coffee houses, musical performances and so forth.
Like the other poster said, have him check out the Independent Weekly (indyweek.com) for some ideas. The Raleigh Downtowner and downtownraleigh.com are also good sources of things to do.

I'm thinking that having a mother hunting for women for her son is going to have disastrous results, but if you're determined to try, grab a recent copy of "The Independent" (published weekly) and you will see all of the available nightlife and favorite hang-outs in this area. Good luck to you.

i dunno 20 and whatever ages these days hang out at the clubs....that includes everyone new york italy tokyo...everyone goes to clubs these days and hey...i see 11 year olds smoking now a days....the worlds changing...
