a cocker needs to be started early. you need to play with his feet constantly, seperating his toes and stuff. you can tell your groomer to just do a feet, face , and fanny, cut on him. if you dont do regular groomings on him and get him used to it, he will be afraid of the experience, and unfortunatly, cockers arent the easiest dogs to groom. I am a groomer and i have been bitten by cockers more than any other dogs. start them early....also try to drimel (electric or battery operated drill with a file bit on it) the nails instead of cutting them.

start in small incriments at home and seek the advice of a professional groomer, the sooner the better, and the more he gets groomed the more used to this he will become. Remember, grooming was never meant to be a painful or fearful experience, it should be like going to a spa

The best time is when he is tired. That is the time I clipped my puppies nails too. Keeping the paws trimmed also makes it easier to clip the nails.

Now is a good time to trim the hairs, so he gets used to it.

The younger the better
at least get him use to teh noise of clippers, standing still, and having his feet worked on.
