I don't know; I've had problems with this myself. Traditionally the man asks first. I guess it all depends on where the guy stands. If he really likes you and maybe was just too shy and you ask, then let him take it from there. If he is only moderately interested, and you ask, it may be hard for him to assume a man's role as the pursuer as you asked him to go out. Also, there will be problems with him paying for a date that he didn't ask for.
I'll admit I am kind of old-school in my beliefs, but as a whole our society has lost a respect for the sanctitiy of marriage and the traditional ways of doing things. Men have a lot less respect for women these days too. Men like the chase. The dating scene doesn't change as traditionally the male is the pursuer. It has to do with the man being the provider for the family. Let him know you're available, but don't take over.

The "feelings" are not wrong but it is always better to wait and let him take the lead and ask you out. Girls are usually way ahead of guys in "spilling their soul..." they are much too impatient. Guys are more cautious and slow to initiate something with the girl. I would advise you to let things happen naturally between you and him. Let him take the lead; you follow.

I don't see ANYTHING wrong with this especially since he is already your boyfriend!! I must admit that there are times when I pamper my boyfriend (i.e. massage his feet, treat him to dinner, and wash his car). This is only an indicator to him that you love him and appreciate him!! You go girl!!
