Were you attracted to him because he was a little bit of a "bad boy"?
And what makes you think his body is clean if his hair isn't? If you're having sex with a man who doesn't have good personal hygiene, I hope you're using a condom every time. Otherwise, you could become the recipient of a very discomfiting bladder infection. If you are young, you may have enough bodily fluids to "wash him out of you" so to speak. But it shouldn't be your job to wash his sweat, and wherever his hands were before they were on his penis (like the men's room door handle) etc., out of you.
Hygiene is a value. Rock and roll is a preference. You have a very basic difference on VALUES. He may or may not be interested in changing long-term. But as others have said, you should be straight with him. You don't need to use the word "scummy," but perhaps the next time you're planning to go out ask him to wear clean clothes.
If he doesn't change, believe me, it WILL come between you. Picture him at 60 or 80 with the same habits -- and you still with him. You'll get fed up long before he will.
So find out now whether he'll spruce himself up for you. If he doesn't, you're not a good match.

Sounds, to me like that your boyfriend has a low selfessteam, and quite poss-ably suffering from chronic depression. The way that I think you may be able to help him, is for you to get him out of the house. Take him to places that are clean, and around positive influences. Get him to a place he can not stop smiling at, such as laser tag. make him go to gym, go with him if necessary.
Fly a kite with him, away from anything. The key is fresh air.
For him to come out of a state of depression a good diet and plenty of exercise, are key
if all else fails, he may be a candidate for prescription medication...--only as a last resort though
best wishes--hugs help.

My husband showers everyday but I get stuck doing all the housework. I work full-time also and he feels that I am the one that needs to do the cleaning. I think it is just a man thing and if anyone can figure out how to get there men to help out around the house I would like to know also.

It's better to be honest and tell him or you'll just have to keep living with it until you have the guts to tell him..It's better than having to kiss a guy who has bad hygiene trust me I've been where your at.
