You could go with a burgundy ribbon on your tree piped in gold. This would tie in your color of the dining room. As far as ornaments go, we always like to use antique ornaments. The colors seem to be more subdued. Nice light pink or rose colored ribbon tied in pretty bows add a nice appeal. Good luck with your choices and Happy Holidays to you and yours!!

That's a very elegant color for a dinning room. I would suggest white, because it compliments burgundy. During Christmas time everyone wants to stay towards the candy cane and Christmas tree look, but the white will give your burgundy dinning room a Christmasy feeling, but it also looks like a gingerbread. Hope that helped

Your decor is very L.A., more southern Cal than east coast... and I think a big furry, green tree with red/gold, etc. wouldn't be the easiest theme... UNLESS there's a ton of rich-reds/satins nearly or heavy on the gold, like the cover of this Sunday's Target newspaper insert (if you have any 'paper)... Out on 'limb': Why not try a 1x white tree, or something frosted/kitsch, if you can find a good one... with white or gold lights? I'd go with a California Christmas, as a theme I mean with that room as a backdrop.

I have a similar color combination in my own family room. So we usually get a real tree for the look and a wonderful smell of it. Most of my ornaments are pink, gold and silver in color. These colors compliment the environment of the room and bring a smile to everyone's face.

What about a snowman theme? Or you could do snowmen and snowflakes. I got some beautiful gold snowflake ornaments at Target and we did a snowman Christmas tree with gold snowflakes. It had just enough color and the gold was beautiful. My living room has pale yellow walls (lighter than your pic) and the gold really looked pretty

Can't help you there...my ornaments all have special meaning....made by my kids, or bought on vacations....I relive those precious memories as I decorate the tree each year.
