The first GM rose trials are underway but all other roses on the market have been hybridized the old fashioned way pollen to stigma. Most are the result of work by a rosarian like Tom Carruth or Ralph Moore. However a few found roses make it to market like Darlow's Enigma did. These chance hybridizations have produced some very disease resistant shrubs.
