Raven 25 Parts

Never had any problems with my Raven 25 cal.* I traded it in on a 357 Magnum because of being more deadly or lethal if I ever had to use it for self defense. At the time I could not afford any other handgun except the Raven 25.* No one should have anything less than a 357 Magnum for personal protection.* It is actually two(2) guns for the price of one, because you can shoot 38 caliber ammo in it also.* Great value & a great handgun for self defense.*

Ravens are pure junk. Melt the thing (the gun is moslty zamak). I wish that Ravens, Lorcins, and Jennings never existed. They are an embarassment to anyone who is into firearms and are very unreliable.
The only thing positive is that if a criminal tries to use one on you it might not go off, then you can take it away from him and stick it up his ***. I was at a gunshop back in the 1990s and some guy wanted a leather Bianchi for his Raven and I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing. I'd rather have a 50 year old surplus pistol (well worn, too) from a foreign country than a brand new Raven. I make no apologies on this one.

I'd rather have a rock.

IMHO it's not our place to tell you if your pistol is "junk" or not. What matters is that you have a pistol that isn't operational. Raven (as well as Lorcin, Jennings, FIE and many others) were VERY inexpensive pistols that, for the most part, went "bang" when you pulled the trigger. Many would feed FMJ ammo reliably but not much else and were simple blowback designs. Not known for great accuracy, but they are far better (usually) than carrying a rock. We need to help you fix yours.

As noted above, firing pin failures are common with these. Easy enough to replace the pin. Numrich usually has them at a very reaspnable price. They also usually have diagrams available to download. If they don't, Brownell's does. These are very simple pistols and a good look at the diagram should be enough to give you an idea of how it comes apart and goes back together.

Hope this is of some help.

No Offense, but the Raven MP-25 is a junk pot metal gun...They are prone to breakage, and your problem is more than common. I would get rid of it and consider that the guy upstairs did you a personal favor. I have a bucket with 20-25 Ravens in various forms of dis-repair (broken frames, slides etc) in my Gunsmith work area of my Gun Shop. I use it to show customers how poorly they are made and unsafe. I will not even accept them in my shops to be worked on.Although limited parts are still available, but the gun itself wouldn't justify the repair costs or efforts by any Gunsmith. I suggest you trash it and get a "functional" gun at the very least.Sorry, but this is the absolute truth.......

Sqiggy_Squigtones....I could care less about your personal opinions as it is my business, and livelihood and moral obligation and responsibility as a Gunsmith to inform people of safety issues concerning certain firearms. YOU might not care who gets hurt or worse but I do. If stating facts about a certain firearm hurts someone's feelings than I am truly sorry, but I won't apologise for stating the well known facts that could and do prevent injury. My business requires literally millions of dollars in liability insurance premiums annually, a direct result of lawsuits that have resulted because of poor quality "firearms" like the Raven and others you mentioned... I could care less about uninformed thumbs downs that result from you or anyone else that shares your feelings.....IMHO

As Edison said, check the firing pin. See if it looks like this one here....

You can get a new one at Numrich at that url above. It's machined steel and will never break again.

The Raven is actually a pretty decent undercover carry pistol. Goes bang when you pull the trigger. A *lot* of cops trusted it as a back up gun in the 70's/80's.

Sounds to me like the firing pin is broken. Pull the slide off and check the firing pin. I bet that you will find that it is either broken or worn at the end. Good luck......

The Raven is know for it's weak firing pin. It is not worth repairing.

The firing pin on this gun is notorious for breaking, especially when the gun is dry fired.
