have you heard of it? im part of that union and once a month i have atleast $90 taken out of my paycheck and sometimes more. i just found bad stuff on google about it. how come they take so much money. i know once a month theres $75 for union dues. isnt that too much? im only 17 i only make $8.03 an hour and my last pay check has 2 weeks of work on it and it was only $45. its bulls**t. who think i should quit there and look for a better job

I had something similar in my youth when I worked in a supermarket. Everyone had to belong to the union and pay dues although the union did nothing for the young part-timers.
If you have to belong to work there, I'd look for something else.

United Food and Commercial Workers? Sure, I've heard of it. Whether you are required to join the union to work where you are working depends on your state - in many states you don't have that choice.

Whether you should look for another job is something only you can decide. If you are only working part-time, that is a lot of money for the union dues.

Either you joined the union or live in a "closed shop" state that allows the union to rip you off for useless dues even though you're not a member. If you do live in a closed shop state, petition your state legislators to pass a "right to work" law. Closed shop is just WRONG!
