I've touched one. I can measure his height and his weight. I can also give you his age, what he does for a living, how long he's been married and how many kids he has. I take a urine sample, if you so wish... Or, I could be downright rude and I think I will... I could get a sperm count for you as well. I can give you his shoe size, pants size and shirt size.

Now, can you do any of these things with God? Can you touch him? Measure him? Findout how much he weights? What's his age? Can you get a urine sample? Does the Holy Spirit have some kind of Holy Sperm count?

Are you getting it yet?

Not this again...

Just curious, why do you think someone would tell people that they don't believe in God if they secretly do? What motivation would they have to not admit it? And everyone is virtually anonymous here, which makes it even more confusing why someone would pretend for months and months to be an atheist if they actually aren't. That really doesn't make any sense.

*bangs head on desk*

I'll lay it out for you, step by step, since you don't seem to get it:

1) An atheist is one who lacks a belief in the existence of a deity or deities.

2) There exist people who lack a belief in the existence of a deity or deities. This includes me: I lack belief in the existence of a deity or deities.

3) Therefore, atheists exist.

Yes, the Aristotelian claims of self professed Atheists is enough to meet the standard of soft objectivity.

Yes. Atheists have been identified.

There are pathological liars who deny the evidence. They have the same pathology as Creationists.

I guess my husband will be surprised to find out that he doesn't exist. That'll be an awkward moment, "Hi Honey, you don't exist." Long pause............ "Um, Laurie, have you been drinking?"
