Cats are very sensitive animals, so yours might be extra sensitive to touch. Some cats can take only so much stroking, so I suggest watching for signs that's she about to bite. If her tail starts flicking or her face gets that annoyed look, then stop stroking her.

Or just give her a few strokes and let her tell you if she wants you to continue...she'll bump your hand with her head or rub your hand with her cheek.

Cats are pretty easy to read if you watch for the signs.

My cat does the exact same thing. She'll sit purring away while I'm petting her, then she turns around and bites me. I found out from a vet. that this means your cat doesn't want to be petted anymore. In fact, my cat gets off my lap and sits on the sofa's arm, to still be by me without me petting her. So, she still wants my company, just not my physical love at the moment. That's one thing about cats, they will tell you how they feel in whatever way they can.

Some cats just get overstimulated if you pet them too long and it starts to irritate them, like their nerves can only handle so much. I just put my cat down when that happens and she is fine then. Maybe someone else has a better way to get her to stop with the biting part but its not really a good idea to keep petting when she's annoyed.

She's telling you that she's had enough of stroking. When she does this just put her on the floor. Eventually she'll learn not to bite you and to jump to the floor when stroking time is over. It's important to know that cats can be trained. They are smarter than we think they are.

Try petting her in a different manner or area of her body. Or she may be telling you, Ok, I'm done now. I had a cat that loved to be pet, but only when she felt like it and for how long.

That this means your cat doesn't want to be petted anymore. Mine does the same thing, just pet her for very short periods at a time, then put her down...
Like they say,,You can't train a Cat,,They train you....

Actually it is a science question. Cats can sense the built up of static electricity and will get unhappy before you can get zapped. Try raising the humidity level in your house as see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

cats are very independent and impatience. they like to be left alone. i too have a cat and i swear it is like he is bipolar. sometimes there are just times when they do not want to be touched.. but to teach them not to bite..some use a squirt bottle filled with water and squirt their cat in the face so they will know not to do it again.

I thought my cat was the only one that does that. I just don't pet him to often.
