Google childhood rashes and see if anything matches up..Some of the pics though are not that great...
If they start to spread, get clear blisters on them, and they itch, you dont need to vax for chicken pox! YEY! He may or may not run a fever, but will not feel %100...Good luck

Has he got a tempreture? I have never had chicken pox nor my kids so dont know about that i know the spots itch and you need to put calamine lotion on him if it is chicken pox. It could be just a heat rash my little girl has had me worried a few times and thats all its turned out to be. But you are his mother trust your instincts and if in doubt ring nhs direct or take him to docs or a&e. Sorry cant help more

My 3 year old nephew and 1 year old nephew have this same problem. i don't think it is chicken pox because my nephews haven't played together for a month but have broke out at the same time. I cant figure out what this is either. we took them to the Dr and they said it was just a rash. i gave both of them benadryl and it didn't help.
Update: if your son still has the bumps and rash take him to the ER. my 3 yr old nephew had to go last night because he started to throw up and the rash was not getting better and he was put on steroid's to help it. DO NOT panic i didn't write this to scare you but to let you know what is happening to them because they have the same rash in the same area's as your son.

Has he been vaccinated against Chicken pox? (this is normally the case around 1) and has it been recently?
IF so, he probably just has CP, mild strain.
If not, then it could just be a viral infection that is accompanied by a rash... my son gets them all the time.
Any time there is a fever, diarrhea etc, he gets "pimples" on his trunk and face.

It could be! My 22 month old had the chicken pox a few months back. I'd wait until tomorrow. For now put on calamine lotion. Tomorrow if they have spread, take him to the doctors. If they haven't but they're still on his back and tummy, take him to the doctors anyway just to see what it is. Good Luck!

If you are talking about large black spots that is normal for a shih tzu. They develop the black spots when they get older it is perfectly natural for the breed. If you are talking about flea dirt which is very small and just looks like dirt on the skin it is very hard to remove but with regular bathing and cleaning and getting rid of the fleas it will go away. If your dog is a year old I would take him to a groomer and have him dipped and then contact a vet and ask them what to use to stop the fleas. If the black spots seem to be part of the skin do not worry it is just the natural skin coloring for a shih tzu.

Sounds like it could be chicken pox to me. Did he have a vaccine recently? On occassion the vaccine can actually cause a mild case of chicken pox.

It's probably a viral infection but you should get him to the doctor as soon as you can to rule out anything else.
Since we're heading into a weekend just watch for high fever, excessive fussiness, worsening or spreading of the rash, signs of dehydration, changes in breathing, and extreme listlessness. If any of this also occurs go to the ER.

Possibly chicken pox, which starts on the torso and quickly spreads to the arms and legs, but get it checked out just to be sure.

It could be a viral rash! My Doctor told me that if you press on the red rash and then it turns white before turning red again when you take the pressure off then this is viral. If you press on the rash and it stays red then it is something resulting from another source. If it is viral then it will just run its course. I just was in the ER a few weeks ago for a fever and rash on belly and back(tiny little red dots) and he told me this little hint for what they do in the exam. Good luck and hope he feels better.
