A dash of pepper is about an 8th of a teaspoon. sorry I don't have a link. Try Foodnetwork.com. They might have something under measurements.

If you mean a dash of pepper, like in a recipe, you just pinch some pepper in your fingers or shake the bottle once over the food. If you're confused about it, you shouldn't even use it. Most of the time the "dash" of salt or pepper is optional, and I don't ever taste the difference.

You may be thinking about the brand name "Mrs. Dash", which isn't just pepper, it's a blend of spices.

"Dash" when referring to measurement is one sprinkle of pepper from a shaker or a "pinch" of pepper grabbed by your fingers from a bowl of pepper.
