I have redhair and I'm always really conscious when I'm in the sun but I still get really burnt. What are the chances of me getting cancer? just a guess.. ?(I'm 14)

Also my grandad had skin cancer, but it was very mild so he didnt need treatment.

Please be careful. Fair-skinned people have a greater chance of getting burned (and such excessive exposure promotes skin cancer) just because they don't have as much dark-colored pigment (melanin) in their skin to absorb and block the damaging ultraviolet rays from reaching their "inner skin", the dermis, I think, that is actuallty alive and produces the surface skin. You might search on "skin cancer" and should get some better references about it. Best regards, Mike

Anyone with fair skin has a higher chance, and since red-heads tend to have fair skin, yes. Just wear sunscreen on a daily basis.

Everytime you get a sunburn you increase your chances of getting skin cancer. Fair-skinned people especially need to make sure they wear sunscreen with a high SPF because they burn so quickly and easily. Anyone who tans regularly also increases their chances of getting skin cancer, so everyone needs their sunscreen.

you have a better chance because of your fair skin. I also have very fair skin and have to be careful in the sun.
