Quite often when you get about half way down your bottled beverage you can loose the fizz.
Is there any way to stop this?

keep it sealed tightly, and in the fridge, if it is sealed and at room temp. it will still go flat, you have to do both.

Crush the bottle b4 putting the cap back on so there is less space inside the bottle between the left over soda and the cap.

There is actually no good way of doing it. The closes I've heard to being good is as the first answer said store it upside down... it doesn't work but it delays it. Same with the pumps that take the oxygen out.

SQUEEZE THE BOTTLE UNTIL THE SODA REACHES THE TOP OF POUR SPOUT, HOLD IT LIKE THAT, AND REPLACE THE CAP, THIS TAKES THE AIR OUT OF THE BOTTLE . THE AIR CANCELS OUT THE CARBONATION AND THATS WHY IT GOES FLAT, IF YOU GET THE AIR OUT OF THE BOTTLE, NOTHING CAN MAKE IT GO FLAT!!

Yep. Store it in the fridge upside down. The carbonate can't escape.

They make stoppers that keep in the fizz. I know I have some. Look in the grocery store on the isle that as kitchen gadgets or on the soda isle.
