Vista. Also depends on your PC? With Vista you need more RAM, i suggest at least 1G, but better with 2G. Vista is designed for newer MP, like 2core, etc, but is way superior to XP. I have Vista on my desk top, and XP on my Lap top, I know ?!
The problem is not vista is your PC !?

I liked XP better than Vista. Perhaps when they get the bugs out, I don't know. I use Vista at home and quite honestly I have few real problems. It just takes a bit of time to get used to. Is XP worth going out and getting a license for? Unless I could get it through the University at a student price, I would probably just use Vista and watch for upgrades as they tweek it.

You can get XP Pro online for about $120.00.

Neither. Both are Windows products that are virus magnets, expensive, and not worth the money. Much better is www.kubuntu.org for free.
If you MUST have one of these go with XP as many people with Vista have gone back because their printers and stuff dont work. Remember Vistas motto:
"Ask not what Vista can do for you, ask what you can buy for Vista."

Vista is better.
Contrary to popular belief, vista home premium is cheaper than XP pro, and has more features, like recording tv.
You don't want to be in the past, do you (microsoft will cut support for xp in 2009, I think)

Hi. Vista is getting better but for most machines XP will run faster and with less driver problems. My opinion (and I have used both).

i prefer Windows XP because I find it more accessable. Perhaps because ive known it longer... any way Vista is more expensive. You can get Basic, or Premium. The prices are according.

windows xp is cheaper than vista, its more stable (less likely to crash, freeze up). Depending on what computer you've got vista generally will run slowly compared to xp.

i would recommend windows xp.
