I'm so shocked by my dog's interest in Buddhism I spelled "give" incorrectly.

Don't worry, No need at all. Even us as human do not have to convert to vegan.

Only Chinese Mahayana Buddhists who have taken Bodhisattva precepts need to be vegan. The rest are up to the individual.

Just out of curiosity, how do you know your dog is interested in Buddhism?)

Many Buddhist do eat meat. To do so it must be 'blameless' meat meaning that the person eating it had no knowledge, no responsibility, no hand in the death of the animal.
