you shouldnt post these things on here hun, people on here are going to judge you and make you feel even worse. even worse they might use it against you the next time you try to answer a question, look! they already have.... take a deep breath......NOW!! :)....and say the shahada and repent your sins. pretent your starting fresh. try praying which ever prayer is on right now, its not hard; make wudu and pray. if you must, try to start gradually and start praying all 5 isa. this would have been the prefect opportunity to go to Jumah. because of the holiday, depending on where you live you may still catch it. make dua to Allah (swt) to guide you to the right path. whatever you are thinking about doing bad with your tonge- gossiping, cursing, (read surah humazah 104) etc try to not those words pass you lips. i dont know what you mean when you say: "i put my education above islam"?---i will pray from you sis, promise! i believe you are strong and can do it!!! ♥

salaam

Well as I know from reading your profile you live in the Western World like me and because of that I can't really say you're being a bad Muslim as 1. In the Western World you have to go to school on your Sabbath day because they've built it around Christianity and not Islam and seen as in some Western World countries its law you're in school everyday apart from Saturday and Sunday I don't see why anyone would blame you, 2. When at school I can understand why you don't pray, I know getting out a pray mat, facing Mecca and beginning to prayer wouldn't make you the most popular girl in school but you can still pray at home and maybe even make up for the prayers you miss, 3. The music I see no problem with as long as it doesn't effect your spiritual life, 4. The unislamic things part I can't help you with as I don't know what they are but I hope I helped.

Pray to Allah, That will make you a good Muslim. Don't listen to music if the lyrics have not nice words like alcohol, drugs, and more bad things. Do Islamic things like read Arabic in Qu'ran, pray, fasting in Ramadan and more things. Well, study for your school and your education but try praying on time. If you can't pray because of your homework, then take a break and pray. If you need help, just pray to Allah. He will help you. Try be a good Muslim, also ask Allah for some help to be a good Muslim. May Allah guides you on right path. Hope I helped...

Realising your mistake's the first step;correcting them the next...i'm sure if anyone is smart enough to admit their own mistakes, they must be smart enough to figure out a solution too...no matter how much anyone advises the final step rests with you..all of us are guilty of some or the other forms of unislamic things, sometimes tiny, other times huge...but sulking around about it isn't going to help..if you truly want to change, you must have the strong will power and determination to do so..it might all sound easier said than done, but we all know that the consequences are well worth it..yet, most of us, including me, aren't ready to make these sacrifices..it all depends upon the individual..best of luck.

I agree with you, you have a huge problem, but don't you know that a huge problem may be a blessing? yes, I blessing, I mean it.
You will need a HUGE effort to overcome you problem, but afterwards, you'll have a great faith that's hard to be broken isa.

First of all, you need to work on the praying, it's the most major issue for a Muslim, a Muslim who does not pray represents a point of debate between different Muslim religious scholars, some of them consider him a non-Muslim while others see him as a Muslim who has committed one of the greatest sins in Islam, may be the greatest at all.

Regarding listening to music, I cannot give you a Fatwa about it, but this is not the greatest thing, you need first to work on prayers as I told you.

Although I don't get what you mean by "unislamic things" but I think you need to read more in Islam, may be in Quran interpretation, Sunnah, Serah,.... and the most important thing is to apply what you read or know, read less and apply all of it is much better than if you read so much and apply nothing.

Your education above Islam?!!!
Let me tell you a very very very important thing in this life, DETERMINE YOUR ULTIMATE GOALS AND STICK TO THEM WHATEVER THE MEANS TO ACHIEVE THEM, in other words, WORK ON TARGETS NOT ON THE "WAY" TO THEM.
So how is this relevant?
Islam gives you TARGETS to work on, satisfying Allah and going to Jannah are the most important. So you need to work on this.
Education is a MEANS to be a cultured person that is aware of the basics of sciences, which helps you be a GOOD MUSLIM that reflects what Islam really is. So, whenever you find a contradiction between your education, or whatever, and your Deen (religion) you should put your religion on the ultimate top of every thing, it's your ultimate goal in this life.

I hope this was helpful to you dear sister.
And hope you'll be nearer to Allah and start acting RIGHT NOW.

Dont worry Qiyamah, even im the same, i sometimes feel ashame to call myself a Muslim... I think ive told you about this before...

But one thing, i always push myself to 'pray & recite quaran', i never give up them so easily... i dont give even a cm for satan to enter into me...

Im not a bad guy, though i dont recite quaran & pray.

And see, you atleast put education first above islam, but i put sports & some entertaining stuffs on top.
Nothing to be proud about it...

Anyways, what i can say you is, keep trying Allah will definitely help you, your not a horrible person, this happens to many Islamic peoples around the world.

Keep trying, Allah is always on your side.

Cheers!

Asking for help is the best first step you have taken towards improving yourself and becoming good Muslimah. I show you site where you can learn Islam a lot.

http://www.alhudapk.com/

On this site see the Menu on left. Click English lectures by Amina Elahi, then click any topic on the next window, and in front of the topic click sign of speaker to listen. I hope you will like to listen her. She is a great speaker and highly knowledgeable lady.

You can learn lot more by trying other links also on Menu of this site. If you know how to speak and understand Urdu Click Husn-e-Ikhlaq, Tajweed is for learning how to read Quran correctly.

Al-Qiyamah will be a terrible day. This name doesn't suite good Muslimahs. I wish you choose your name Al-Jannah,

hey! you never came off as that kind of person!! geez, youve always sounded like the goodie two shoes type :p lol

remember, allah gave you all these blessings...a brain to excell with academically, arms and legs, and a body which are perfectly functional. If you dont pray and you continue doing "unislamic" things, and put school before Allah, he will put you second, just like you are doing to Him. You should start now before it is too late and something bad happens. and think about it, a single prayer is what? 5 minutes out of your 24 hr day..imagine. that makes or breakes your chances of getting into heaven.
I always tell myself that when im face to face with temptation.

mars, its is not a bad thing she is doing. She wants some words of inspiration to get her going. It is haram to talk about bad things you do, but not when you are asking for advice.

take your own advice, cuz u just done a small form of shirk by questionning me, how hypocritical....

anyway, thats the past, i hope i dont come across the same situation again.... im just like u, ive put my education before islam, i listen to music, i socialize with guyz, i dont pray either, and yea ive done shameful acts to like smoke and stuff but teh truth is we should look at this and try hard to correct it, we cant even sacrifice our luxuries for allah, its cuz we're bothe selfish and may allah guide us.

Fast to break the haraam act of listening to music. If you fast Insha ALLAH you will break the bad habit of listening to music.
If you don't pray then you are not a Muslim at all. You are just a Muslim in name only and are considered a non Muslim.
Education is important but this should not be your main goal in life. Your main goal should be towards getting to Jinnah when you die.
Repent to ALLAH(Subhanna wa ta'ala), fast and read Qur'an and study the strong Hadiths.
