I don't believe CL Richardson exists...

That argument has been around for a very long time.
It's inane.
Don't believe me? Look at CL richardson's reply. It doesn't get any more inane than that!

Oh and CL, you're getting that many thumbs down because your answer is, quite frankly, wholly wrong and ignorant.
That you take it for encouragement only serves to further illustrate just how intellectually backwards you are...

Atheist machine NO!
That would mean that there would be a small chance he's pass on his damaged genetic materiel to another generation. And the LAST thing the world needs is yet another ill-educated, bible thumping moron like him.

CL is a would-be clown in her own little bubble.
She has a tenuous grasp on reality and would rather believe we are all manufactured in god's image than accept we are the result of mindlessness and or chance – she can’t cope with the thought that our existing at all is the real miracle.
She thinks anyone who denies the existence of her breed of Abrahamic god must be either spitefully, pridefully or hatefully in denial or mad.
She knows that hell will be a crowded place cos she understands that MOST people on the planet do NOT believe in her god delusion.
She is the typical example of the-easily-fooled that conmen and scammers depend on for their extravagant life-styles.

There's good money to be made from religion IF you can keep a straight face.

CL is the best representative of the type of person most dislike. He/she will try to use ones words against them (although the logical fallacy is ridiculously obvious to virtually everyone else) until he/she riles those people up. Then he/she will feel content once enough people start to despise his/her every word, somehow thinking he/she has been vindicated. It's really quite sad. I used to think CL was just an obnoxious idiot, not I just feel sorry for him/her, as his/her only joy seems to come from insulting others.

Actually, CL is making a claim he does not believe, using his straw man model of a scientific Atheist as his locus. This goes beyond disingenuous to to blatant deceit, which shows his true colors. This is the problem with prescribed (by some fantasy book) mimicry of morality, it breaks down when challenged.

First of all, let me establish that you can't prove a negative. The only way to prove a negative statement is to prove a positive or a set of positives that is mutually exclusive to the negative statement.

Furthermore, there is no positive statement or set of positive statements you could prove that is mutually exclusive with the existence of God. Also, disproving something the Bible says does not by any means constitute disproving the existence of God. You could throw the whole Bible out the window with science and that doesn't do a thing to disprove God at all.

So, because you can't prove the negative statement that "God does not exist", atheists cannot truthfully claim to "know" that God does not exist, and therefore they are not really atheists, they're really just opinionated agnostics. Actually, they are just as blindly faithful *against* God as many religious people are blindly faithful *towards* God, which makes them just as bad as the "religious people" they claim to be so superior to.

C.L. So, People exist but their atheism is imaginary. If I can't see it, feel it, taste it, smell
it, or hear it...well you get the idea. :)

What a semi-clever point you attempt to make. If atheists only believes in what they can see, than obviously since they can’t see “atheism”, it must not exist. Using their own logic against them!

So your Christianity exists precisely because you CAN’T taste it, see it, feel it or in any way prove it. I get it.

No proof, therefore becomes proof. In order for anyone to have Christian faith, they have to believe in things they cannot possibly know or prove.

Your “faith” that you believe “in your heart” proves nothing as you cannot prove it exists nor can I prove it doesn't. Wait, I get it “No proof, is Proof”!!

It reminds me of what Christians say about the Devil. “The greatest trick the Devil did was to make the world think he doesn’t exist!”

I think the greatest trick that was “never” done was some Christian psycho who deduced that the Devil must exist because we have no proof that he does exist!!

Wait, using that logic, atheism must exist because we have no proof of it, either!!

Are we chasing our tail, C.L. ?

Well, you get the idea. Wait, we can’t prove “ideas” exist!! So, do they or don’t they!!

As far as “stirring up” the posters here, don’t flatter yourself. We’re not laughing with you, we’re laughing at you and about you. I guess for an attention starved narcissist, even negative attention is good. But if you think were jumping in here because you’re such a clever philosopher, posing the “ I got ya” question, please continue to delude yourself.

You’re obviously good at it because to be a good Christian requires exceptional self delusionary skills. I can’t prove that so it must be true.

they are just stating the reality of the fact that the only thing you really know is that you exist, everything else is taken in on some scale of probability, like all five of my senses detect this so its a good chance it exists, but if i can only hear it and thats it im using a larger strech to assume its real, i mean we really dont know, i could be the only entity that really exists and my brain is manufacturing this reality around me.

its basically just a play on logic to try and obscure the lines of what is real and what isnt to make it harder to come to a solid conclusion on somethings existence

I'd rather be an F18 Hornet pilot playing chicken with death, than to believe in hokey pokey.

I helped your ego CL and gave you an honorary thumbs down.

There is insufficient empirical evidence to support the hypothesis of a god or gods. Therefore I am an atheist. By virtue of this post, I exist.
