He is a man.
He will soon die.
He will find out he was greatly mistaken.

The Messiah that the Jews were waiting for at the time of Jesus was a powerful general who would organize them and lead them in a revolt against the Romans to win their freedom. Jesus was not what they were expecting, a Son of God who offered them salvation and predicted an imminent apocalypse. Which is why most Jews didn't follow him.

Richard Dawkins is neither of these. He's just a man who doesn't believe what some other people believe, and who writes books to share his thoughts for whatever they're worth. He doesn't threaten you with eternal punishment if you don't believe what he believes. In that, he is more like Socrates than Jesus.

The Antichrist. You know, I think the whole concept of 'Antichrist' exists so that angry Christians can throw it at their enemies. During the first Gulf War, Pat Robertson said Saddam Hussein was the Antichrist. He didn't speculate, he KNEW. After 9/11, Robertson decided Osama bin Laden was the Antichrist. Next year, it will probably be Hillary Clinton.

Dawkins simply believes what seems reasonable to him. He has no problem with Christians' religious doctrines, except where they are labeled as 'science', and he debunks creationism as science, not as doctrine. Hardly the Antichrist.

Hello, Bell...:

Dawkins is quite handsome, at least as much as Joseph Smith. Can't tell you much about Muhammad, if you posted a picture of him, you might start some riots.

However, the Bible say there are many antichirists, and he is among us right now.

But the real Antichrist is Satan himself, and his infamous landing is coming soon.

Our immediate problem is the Abomination of Desolation that Jesus warned us about. A Bible code was sealed until the end of the days, just so you could identify our immediate problem. See: http://abiblecode.tripod.com

Concerning Mohammad, he's called the Destroyer in two languages, just so you will get it correct, in Revelation 9:11; yes, 9-11. See www.revelado.org/islam.htm That site will tell you why Islam has been attacking Christian nations for over 1,400 years, and shows where we are headed.

Shalom, Peace in Jesus, Ben Yeshua

Atheists don't need a messiah, so neither. But you already know that. ;)

BTW...I've never actually read any Richard Dawkins. The next book on my list is "Patrimony" by Alan Dean Foster and then "The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster" by Benny Henderson. I haven't had much time to read in the past couple of years. :(

i'm an avid reader yet i do no longer think I even have examine any books written via the gents you mentioned. I even have examine some articles and that i watched a Dawkins interview as quickly as, I in basic terms can no longer get via the dislike and intolerance to be sure if there is any actuality below all of it. My absolute prominent atheist is Siddh?rtha Gautama a minimum of he taught love, no longer hate. The Buddha taught non-violence, comprehend for all life, the convenience of giving generously and of an uncomplicated life variety, serving for a lot of human beings as a sort of the utmost standards of humane habit. If Dawkins would desire to coach as Buddha did with compassion, humbleness and ask your self......then i might certainly hear to what he had to assert. (BTW - i do no longer tell others to examine the bible OR to grow to be a Christian....this is for everyone to settle on.)

A type of both, as all men worship something, either the true God and creator or something created.

While many atheists may live overall moral lives, they have no no transcendent proven source of immutable morality, which the Bible is, and when a nation is built upon such a changeable belief system one can know for it will end up doing. And as man is religious by nature, something else will fill the void left by God. Under Communism for instance, man is no less religious than many Theistic faiths, but they will worship a man such as Lenin or Kim Jong Two. (See http://video.google.com/videoplay?Docid=3787046457101273554).

Dawkins universe is one "has no design, no purpose, no evil and no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference."

And as atheism has no transcendent moral authority, except what they see as "reasonable", thus atheism's legacy is largely men like Stalin Mao, and Pol Pot, who murdered far more than even false theistic religion did over the last 100 years (better weapons did help). http://www.christianaction.org.za/firearmnews/2004-04_thegreatestkiller.htm

Meanwhile no one was ever killed by anyone seeking to defend or expand the Christian faith, if acting consistent with Biblical Christianity, which very clearly disallows such.

Finally and most of all, true Christians seek the salvation of souls, by faith and surrender to the Lord Jesus, who gave himself for our sins in His death on the cross, and rose again to glory. And that, the evidence shows and those who have done so know, is sure real! Glory to God!

Neither, he is an atheist who has written (at length and sometimes confusingly) about his beliefs.
I admire his candour, but not his lack of brevity or his arrogance.
I am an atheist, but the only thing we share is a disbelief in God(s)
By the way "PeacebyJesus", everything you have written is laughably wrong. Think about the crusades and the inquisition next time you claim that no one has been killed for thinking differently from mainstream Christians

WHAT? There is no such thing as a Christian Antichrist! A Kingdom divided cannot stand! If all the Atheists come dancing and singing when you say his name, he can have the first title....

I would vote "Atheist Messiah," at least going by what some people in R&S seem to write about and believe. He just doesn't have enough charisma to be the "Antichrist" for sure!

Neither.

He's a smart dude and one of the most interesting biologists of the twentieth century. He's also one of the more recent atheists to "come out of the closet," and that makes some people angry.

I don't get angry if theists say "there is a god," so why should theists get angry if Dawkins says that "there is no god?" They're just not used to a debate on the issue of faith or religion.

Neither one. He's just a man.
I disagree with him.
What does it matter?

How could he be a messiah to atheists? They don't believe in gods. I infer that a messiah is pretty close to a god....a messiah is a deliverer of news, but the connotation is there, IMO.
