I'm looking to buy a truck and these are 2 of my favorites i have looked at so far. Does anyone have information regarding either of these trucks that would help me make a decision?

Dodge, it will out tow that toyota any day. Would you rather have a real truck (dodge) or a toy truck (toyota)?

I would also agree that the Tacoma has a much better resale value. On the other hand the Dodge now has a life time drive line warranty.. Motor rear end and transmission. The transmissions in Dodge trucks have always been "week sisters" in either the diesels and gasoline models. We all know the Cummins Diesels are among the vary best on the market today. I've talked to quite a few guys who have the Hemi 5.7 motors in the 07 models which drop cylinders on light load conditions to save fuel. They're pinching close to 20 mpg. during highway conditions. The diesel gets even better mpg. We are all being raped on the cost of diesel fuel. The refining company's, federal and state taxes are killing people who desire to drive more fuel efficient vehicles.

I can't figure it out. Clearly 1/3 the population of European people drive environmentally clean diesels.

When I was fresh out of college I worked for Agway Petroleum. We all attended classes to bring us up to speed on their products, gasoline, regular and high test, motor oil, diesel motor oil, gear oils all grades of gasoline home heating oil # 2 fuel oil and diesel fuel. Agway's diesel fuel consisted of: 50% #2 fuel oil & 50% kerosene with green dye (identification purpose) plus fuel injector cleaner. The reason for the split with kerosene was to prevent gelling in cold weather.
The bottom line of this story is at that time we were taught that fuel oil and kerosene cost the refiner to was 50% less than gasoline because of less time to crack it sufficently for the above two products.

If the Toyota products are so superior why don't they get off the dime and match GM, Ford and Chryslers warrantys?
Wander in to the Toyota dealer and get some prices on their parts. Common stuff like starters, alternators and transmissions. Compare these prices with on-shore owned companies, Ford, Chrysler and GM. It'll stop you dead in your tracks.

Tacoma hands down
i would touch anything American personally
as for 100k warranties
it's not needed on Toyota's
since they do not suffer from the problems like American trucks / cars do
Mitsubishi has 100k warranties
but then they did it because they had a notoriously bad mechanical reputation and thus had to do something to back up their flagging sales and make them attractive again..
keep in mind you see huge rebates on American cars / trucks for the same reason, they simple are not as valued and hence they throw in everything in order to make a sale
Toyota and Honda does not need as much incentives to sell vehicles

THE TACOMA WILL RUN CIRCLES AROUND THE DODGE AND IT IS MUCH MORE RELIABLE AND IT WILL BE ON THE ROAD MORE THAN THE DODGE.

Toyota. Better reliability, better mileage, better resale.

Dodge's really aren't all that reliable and their mileage sucks.
