God does not hate homosexuals. God is love, and therefore loves everyone. God would no sooner hate his own creation that an artist would hate his own painting. He just grieves when people defy His word.
Now where is gets a little nutty is this group of "Christians" in Kansas that picket funerals of fallen soldiers with their hateful signs that claim that "God hates faghs" when in fact nothing is further from the truth. These people need to check themselves and read their own Bibles. No self respecting Christian would ally themselves with this group of wayward legalists.
I can't prove to you one way or the other without using scripture. But all I can do is tell you what I know is true in my heart after reading said scriptures. God is not a hateful being. He doen not hate people. He hates sin. The Bible says that the act of homosexuality is a sin, but does not hate the homosexual. That's all I got for you. Hope it helped.

Dear Boogie, you make a incorrect asertion, I am a devout Christian, and I DO NOT, hate Homosexuals, Infact he most good we could do for Homosexuals is too try to build bridges too them so we can share the Gospel with them. The BIble is the word of God and it dosent only say that Homosexuality is wrong, its says, lying, stealing, adultery, idioaltry, blapshmey, covetessness and the like are all wrong and equally deserve His Justice. therefore God does not hate Homosexuals any more or any less than he abhores liyng theiving blapsheomous adulturers and idolaters at heart. so why dosent God just gid rid of all of these sins right now? if he did it would reuqire the lives of each and eveyr one of us, why? because God is Holy and Just and he wont only destroy sin, but those guilty of sinning (transgressing his law). The BIble says that God will one day deal with sin, he will bring forth in Judgement every idle word and every secret thoight, and if you and I have lied, if we have stolen (value of item is irrelevent), if we have used his name in vain, if we have looked with lust, then we will equally face His Judgement and condemnation. heres the Good news, God who is rich in mercy saw fit too make a way for you and I too be free from the consequences of our lawlessness, Jesus Christ suffered and died on the cross. we broke Gods Law (commandments) and Jeus paid the fine we deserve too pay. Now what must you and I do too receive eternal life? The Bible says to confess and forsake your sin and trust in jesus alone, like you would put your faith and trust in a parachute . This salvation is for every man, for as the Bible says "all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God" - Romans
God Bless

God never changes, He hated homosexuality so much He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. We are under a new covenant now, so judgment isn't so swift. Christians are not taught to hate anyone. We are to be like God and hate what He hates and love what He loves. God hates sin, not people. This sin is called an abomination in the bible. God wishes all homosexuals would repent and come to Jesus and get to spend eternity in heaven.

Again... God does not hate homosexuals and any devout Christian worthy of the name does not hate homosexuals. The Bible teaches that homosexual behavior is not right. Any Christian who verbally attacks any person and spouts off in a denigrating way is wrong. That behavior is condemned by the Bible.
As for why an omnipotent God would allow something to exist, who knows? I am not omniscient.

If you suppose devout Christians (not Fred Phelps type) are characterized by hating homosexuals, then mostly likely you confuse opposing something or someone with hating them. And in a real sense God "hatest all workers of iniquity" )Ps. 5:6), yet loves their souls so much that He spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, and Jesus loved us and gave Himself for us (Rm. 8:32; Gal. 2:20). i wonder what your perception is of Jesus rebukes of the careless rich, and full and prideful (Lk. 6)?
And major evangelical Christian ministries like focus on the Family sped much time money and effort seeking to show love to homosexuals, though it is hardly reciprocated.
As for why the specific sin of homosexuality hateful, it is for the same reason all sin is, and for which Christ died, which is because it is contrary to God's design, and thus to righteousness and life, being ultimately destructive, and thus it is hateful.
Scripture makes it abundantly clear that God made man and women uniquely compatible and complementary, physically and otherwise, and universally forbids same gender sexual relations (Lev. 18:22; Rm. 1:26, 27). God uniquely joined only men and women together in marriage (Gn. 2:24), which is the only thing that sanctifies sexual relations, and NEVER provided marriage for homosexuals, leaving all homo-sexual relations to be fornication, and of a most perverse sort (2Pet. 2:6, 7; Jude 7).
While it is rather obvious that men are not physically designed to have intercourse with each other, the compatibility between men and women in not simply physical, and the Lord provides an entire book honoring the romantic and erotic love between a man and his female WIFE (Song of Solomon).
The practice of homosexual sex has left a legacy of greatly increased premature mortality and incidence of disease, including over a half a million Americans dead because of AIDS, for which homosexual the lifestyle has been primarily responsible, along with other unBiblical practices.

Yet again, while God, who is holy and true, hates all sin, and in a very real sense, hates sinners (Ps. 5:5; those who love darkness more than light) , because love hates evil (Jn. 3:19-21), yet in just a very real way, almighty God sacrificially loves sinners, having compassion of their souls, and delights not in the death of the wicked but that they repent and be saved (Ezek. 33:11; 2Pet. 3:9). Thus the Creator of all did all that holy love could essentially do, not sparing His very own uncreated Son, who Himself loved us and gave Himself for us, living selflessly and sinlessly day and night, and then paying for our sins with His own blood by His death on the His cross.
And because they choose to turn in their heart from sin to Jesus, asking him to save them as He promised, some of the first Christians were former homosexuals, who became washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. (1Cor. 6:9-11). Bless the Lord.
(Ezek 33:11) "Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die,..."
(Acts 3:19) "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;"

Good and logical question.
Homosexuality is a sin like any other. Sex outside of the marriage bed is also a sin. God hates sin. God could get rid of all the sin and bad stuff on the planet if He wanted to. But He gave us freedom of choice. He doesn't want to force us to come to Him. That is why Christians should witness in love, not beat people in to submission. But He says that though we have freedom of choice, all choices are not beneficial to Him. God doesn't create the bad stuff at all. We do. God loves the homosexuals, He just hates what they are doing. Hope this helps.

It sounds like the "some Christians" you refer to aren't really Christians.
Jesus told us in advance that there would be fakes.
God tells us that all sin will be destroyed one day, but first God is patient waiting for more homosexuals and other sinners to repents so that He can save them.

...Gods Word support the "hating of the SIN" not the person.
"they" don't hate the person... "they" hate what is happening to "them" because of the "SIN"...Sadly, many people caught up in the lie of the "sin" refuse to see what they are truly doing.
God cannot look upon sin, that's why He had to turn from Jesus on the Cross (for the moment in time) when Jesus cried out... "my God, my God why have you forsaken me". It was at that moment in time that Jesus carried all the sin of the World upon Himself... God looked away... but because Jesus was faithful and true in His Word and desire to fulfill the Scripture, He offered Himself as a "once and for all time" sacrifice for the sins... God accepted His sacrifice and gave Him eternal life... That Sacrifice is still in full force and available to anyone who will receive the "gift" of Salvation, paid for at The Cross by Jesus... It's all been paid in full with a eternal guarantee...free, no charge... you'd have to be a fool not to take that offer...

Because God apparently gave man the power of choice and free will. If someone chooses to be gay then they are choosing to sin ... just like someone chooses to steal or murder etc.
An since the bible says no man should lie with another man, then homosexuality classes as sin.
Not my views but views of the bible.
