The tithe is typically 10% of a Christian's income (the 10% comes from the Old Testament practice of giving 10% to the Jewish Temple).
Some Christians choose to give more.
The two Christian men will go to heaven of they have truly and sincerely committed their lives to Christ and live in relationship with Christ on a daily basis.
Their giving of 20% to the church does not determine if they will go to heaven or not.
Cordially,
John

Tithing is a commandment in the Jewish Torah. Therefore Jews are suppose to do it.
However, the Christians say Jesus made all the laws of the Torah obsolete. So no tithing is required of a Christian.
Unless of course their church has revived it as a way to get money.
Some people give money to their church because they want to. Such an un-American un-capitalistic thing to do. The person obviously is a closet Commie.

This is called tithing. Its actually a biblical practice. I can't remember the exact verse, but somehwere in the bible Jesus tells us to "render unto ceaser what is ceasers, and render unto God what is His." Basically pay your taxes, give some to God "aka your church" and spend the rest wisely.
And no this will not get these men into heaven. Simply being a "good person" does not get you into heaven.

The 10% to the church is a Jewish custom, where the Rabbi then shares it out amung the poor of his community. This happened one a year. It was at no time used to suport the Rabbi and he didn`t take any of the money for himself..!!

I used to do this, because i believed God wanted me to do so. The Bible does mention such things. However, when i noticed how materialistic and unspiritual my fellow parishioners seemed to be, i stopped and left the church entirely. I know God doesn't want us to judge others, but there are limits when the churchgoers seem to sin more than those who don't know Christ.

The amount of money given has no bearing on a person going to heaven.

Not according to the book of Acts.
When Simon tried to buy a blessing (or rather, the ability to bless), Peter said to him, "May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of god with money."
May be it's not relevant, but certainly I consider giving money to the church as "bribery" for salvation is blasphemy.

They are going nowhere when they die dear. The church however probably used their money to pay the skyrocketing legal fees of all the pedophile priests victims law suits....

it is meant to be 7.5% of your anual wage i think.
And the amount they donate does not make them a good person it depends on how they live their life and their belief.
It is easier to get a camel through a needles eye than it is to get a rich man into heaven.
