why aren't we just plants, spreading our seeds with the wind and crap like that.

He cares about what you do with your life, what meaning you make out of it. We are not plants, because we don't need to be plants. hehe.

By "Skyman", I assume you mean our merciful Lord, Allah. You should talk with more respect.
Allah is concerned because we must act as is appropriate for Children of Allah.
We are not plants because plants do not serve and follow Allah.
