I mean, he never said to eat the fruit. He never said they should eat the fruit. In fact, when Even said they could not eat it because they would die, the snake pointed out (correctly) that they would not die, and also that they would become as God, knowing good and evil (also correctly). God even confirmed this, saying "Now that man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil..." Everybody says the snake tempted Eve, but I don't see it. Show me the exact verse when the snake tempted Eve.

Seriously, nothing the snake said was untrue, nothing I can see is anything like the snake saying, "Here...eat this....disobey God...."

You people, I tell you...okay, they did die, but Genesis 2:17 said they would die *the day they ate it* and that did not happen (and it says "die" not spiritually die, stick to the text). The snake said the would not die like God said they would the day they ate it, and the snake said they would have knowledge of good and evil, which they did. No on ehas yet shown me a verse where the snake actually suggests Eve should eat the fruit or encourages her to do so, or that the snake lied about anything.

The snake simply told Eve she would not die and God knew it and that if she ate the fruit, her eyes would be opened and she would know good from bad, like God.

Interestingly, the first thing they realized, after eating the fruit was that they were naked. Is that a bad thing? Eve had to be hot!!

There are several interesting points here. She obviously could communicate verbally so she had language skills, but she didn’t know she was naked? There was a talking snake and it does not indicate that she thought that unusual.

Eve was naïve. Hey, that rhymes!! To top it off, God found out about this later when he asked them how they knew they were naked?

This is a paradox. If God knows everything, than he knew when they “sinned” and he knew they would, in fact, “sin”, so what was the point of this whole exercise? So, as a result, according to the Witnesses, we have 6,000 years of misery.

What does it mean when it says “he can read your heart”? Did he read Eve’s heart? Than he knew she was vulnerable. She had to be pretty naïve to be tricked by a talking snake. It looks to me like perhaps she was destined to fail. God had to know.

Think about the angels who “forsook” their heavenly place to have sex with human woman, I mean, if heaven is so great, why would you leave it to get laid? We can get laid here, as humans. Maybe heaven ain’t that great.

Than God complains to Noah that the earth has “become ruined” in his sight and he is going to kill everyone on earth by a flood. After the flood, the whole earth becomes filled with wicked people again and now he is going to kill all the wicked (non-Jehovah’s Witnesses) at Armageddon. So, after Armageddon, are we in for a third round of global-naughtiness? Revelation says so, according to the Witnesses.

I mean, who is in charge of this train wreck, the Almighty? He looks a little Semi-Mighty or Partially-Mighty. A little planning ahead might be good. Just a suggestion.

There is no proof that the Bible is true. By its very cryptic nature, it virtually guarantees that it will be interpreted differently by as many people who read it. The weak minded and easily led, let the “Authority Figure”, (Jehovah’s Witnesses, Baptist, pick one) interpret it for them.

Although, Adam and Eve didn't die immediately they did die, which was a lie. However, there was only one thing forbidden in the garden of Eden, don't eat from the tree in the center of the garden. As you correctly pointed out the snake may have deceived Eve which is not a wrong at the time.

Well....let's consider what he DID do. I'll be improvising: He said, 'Did God really tell you NOT to eat this fruit? Why not? If you eat from it, you're not gonna die. Rather, you're gonna be like God!"
So, by saying these things, he challenged God's sovereignty. He basically insinuated that they didn't need God's rule because they could rule themselves! This DOES make Satan a liar. Because, first of all, Adam and Eve started to get old from that day forward and did eventually die, whereas Satan said they would NOT die.
Also, this proves to US that mankind is not able to succeed in ruling themselves. And we can see this by looking at the world today and all throughout history. Satan is in fact "the father of the lie."

If this isn't satisfying, feel free to email: only with genuine questions. :) Jenny

EDIT: Here's the thing. The truth is Adam died at 930 years of age! So, he OBVIOUSLY did not die within that 24-hour period. But, check this out. At 2 Peter 3:8, we read that a thousand years is like one day for God. That means for God, Adam DID die that same day because 930 years is still less than 1000.

The snake put the idea of disobeying God in Eve's head.
He temped Eve with the idea of become like God.
The fruit did make them die, in more ways than one.
In the begining, Adam and Eve were meant to live forever, they were immortal.
They were also pure and innocent, not even being ashamed though they were both naked.
As soon as they ate the apple, they lost their innocence as well as their mortality. Adam did die, at 930 years.
Yes, God created snakes, but just as everything was in the begining, it was perfect, no animal hunted one another, they all lived in peace.
Satan merely took the form of a snake because it was one of God's magnificent creatures (at first, before he condemed them)

THE SNAKE DIDN'T LIE!!!! Where do you get off the snake lying?!
God just had one commandmet for Adam and Eve, DON'T EAT OFF THIS TREE.
The snake came and tricked Eve into eating the fruit, therefor disobeying God's one rule.

The snake was Satan. His lie was that man would not die if he disobeyed God after God had told them that they would died if they ate the fruit. Adam and Eve did bring death upon the world through their disobedience and rebellion.

The exact verse: Genesis 3:4. "And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die."

You are dieing as we speak because of their disobedience and our inheritance of the sin nature..

"...the snake pointed out (correctly) that they would not die."

Yes they did die. Unless you know something the rest of don't, Adam and Eve died thousands of years ago.

You guys think your so cleaver, but you never real even attempt to understand scripture.

Scripture does not say that they would die that day! The existence of man was initially set up to be eternal... without death. When man sinned against God man became in debt to God. The payment of that debt was death.

You do not know scripture, you certainly are not a scholar. You think you are cleaver, but your weakness is your lack of knowledge and understanding. I am not surprised however, you are a non-believer.

Satan only became a snake AFTER the partaking of the fruit, and then only because God said he would put emnity between the snake and the woman's seed, meaning all mankind.

It baffles me that the plan of salvation should involve such a complicated plot!

And for the heinous sin of giving mankind the gifts of sentience and technology, the serpent is forever cast as the most evil of evils.

In every other culture, the Prometheus figure who disobeys the gods to bring knowledge and fire to mankind is venerated as a hero.

In the Abrahamic traditions, he's vilified for getting mankind kicked out of the 'paradise' of ignorance.

Kind of telling about the values of those religions, isn't it?

He was Satan in disguise tempting Adam and Eve. The sin was disobeying God's wishes no matter what the circumstances. Satan will do anything to get us to disobey God's word.

Nothing any snake says is untrue or true. You should try to remember that the next time you hear one talking.
