Because it's feminine. I've had guy friends who wouldn't even give a girl with short hair a second glance because they thought it was too "manly" and thought long hair was sexier.

they love playing with it. It makes a girl, girlier. PLus, its hard to grow long hair for some poeple. Its special, not everyone can deal with it.
