Why are we catering to non-english speaking illegal and legal immigrants?

The majority of non-hispanic illegal/legal immigrants usually learn the language.

I need advice on how to cope with my anger....

I am not a bigot nor am I prejudice. It's easy to fall back on the you must be a racist to feel this way.

I have no problem with anyone coming here legally and learning the language. No other country caters to illegals the way we do.

Don't worry about corporations doing it, their purpose is to make money, and Spanish speakers are a fairly large potential market.

Get mad at the government, for being so wimpy on immigration and being politically correct.

Throw yourself under a bus. Look for a very big one.

Or, find a cop and threaten him with a knife

Another option is: bite a pit bull dog

By the way, you should do two things:
get so angry and get unangry. That is just beginning. You should wear a sign that says: "Beware, I bite"

To maccrew6:
What I usually see is that yanks that go to France, or any other countries, keep speaking the dialect they call english and expect that people over there will answer in english

To kris A:
I sure am glad to know that. Now we shall buy somewhere else until the signs in Spanish come back

It is not only in Lowes.... It is in every store in my area now. I need an interpreter at times to decipher all this spanish bs written on the labels, and the signs posted.

Ridiculous.

The illegal criminal aliens do not feel they have to learn to speak OUR language since we cater to their little butts all the time.

A pitiful condition for our country.

Watch Glen Beck for a week and you will understand why you have a little voice inside you telling you that something is wrong with this picture.

This is the modern day slave trade market but the big companies don't want you to know that.

The big boys are making six figures while you and I are getting called racist.

They even ignore the drugs crossing the borders, as long as they get dirt cheap labor.

Its not just Lowes. American business in their desire to make it as easy as possible for Spanish only speakers to shop have contributed to the lack of desire to learn English. When I go to a foreign country what drives my desire to learn at least some of the local language is the handicap of not being able to understand anything.

You must be from my age or older. I remember when English was the only language that was used. I think it should be that way still. When in Rome do as the Romans. Try addressing your problem at some kind of 12step group that may help. I do this on a regular basis. Helps me.

I think part of the reason you're seeing a lot of bilingual products (we get them in French, too!) is because many of these things are being marketed to be sold in Mexico and Canada as well as the U.S. Of course, that doesn't explain why I have to press "1" for English...

Just because they are posting spanish all over the place in Lowes doesnt mean that someday everyone in the US is going to have to required to speak spanish. If they want to stay they are going to have to learn english whether they want to or not. Besides this whole country is made up of all sorts of different kinds of people from all over the world and english as our main language is most likely never to change. It just so happens that in the US the two most common languages at the moment are Spanish & English and its the truth and its a fact. You need to just learn to accept that and move on and not let stuff like that bother you because its not worth wasting your anger on.

Glad 2 hear I'm not the only one !
Last week I went into McDonald's and the menu's were in English/Spanish. So I practiced to order what I want in Spanish and the women behind the counter had no idea what I was saying. I asked why both languages, but she had no idea. Not sure why we cater to the none English speaking one's.

Because you're seeing evidence, right before your eyes, that our country is suffering from an invasion - albiet a quiet one. I get angry too. I try not to be angry at the immigrants themselves - I would probably do the same if I were in their shoes. I must say, though, I am furious at their unwillingness to learn our language, and the fact that retailers and even our own government are willing to cater to such a lackidasical attitude. I don't want America to become another Mexico. That's why I'm angry, and probably why you're angry too.

Unfortunately we live in a society that tends to cater to other languages....makes ya wonder what country are we living in. I don't really see an end in site on this issue....being so angry that you are unable to handle the anger is not good....find an outlet....take a kickboxing class, go out and mow the law, cut down a tree...don't let the anger build up and then I read about you on the news for having taken matters in your own hand...there are more important things in life to worry about than letting something you can't change effect you.
