i think he existed. but i believe there wasn't just one - all those jesuses ( ...what's the plural of jesus??) were put together.
so, it's an all-in-one-jesus who can be found in that book.

I am an atheist and I doubt Jesus lived. I cannot find any contemporaneous (at the same time Jesus was supposed to have lived) reference to this Jesus. All the historical references, even if you included the bible itself, to Jesus were written many decades after Jesus' time. These non-contemporaneous references can be plagues by forgeries, and lies. Some of these references have already been proven to be forgeries. For a refutation of the alleged evidence to support a Jesus please refer to the reference cited below.

I doubt that a historical figure (non-god) named Jesus lived. Romans were very particular about writing down things that happened at that time, including soldiers' laundry lists.

I've been studying the Bible for 20 years, in several languages, and have done numerous research on the life of Jesus, including a trip to the Vatican Library.

I've concluded that yes, there was a man named Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified by the Romans to appease the Jewish population. He died, and stayed that way. He didn't rise from the dead. He wasn't even buried in a tomb behind a rock. Someone made that up.

It is debatable. There is very little historical evidence to support that the Jesus described in the bible actually existed. What is more believable is that the writers of the bible used a composite identity of several men of the time and blended that into the character of Jesus.

I don't deny Jesus' existence...but I don't believe he was greater than any other man. If he did exist, he was probably [overly] praised and was associated with a god, and that's where all of the stories come from. The existence of a man, I can believe; the existence of a "god", I cannot.

I'm somewhat sceptical. The story seems similar to most of the gurus of that time, so it's plausable someone called Jesus (or something like that) did live, and could have had followers. I'm more convinced to the existence of for example Simon Magus from around the same times :)

Agnostic here, but yes, I believe Jesus existed and may even have been a great leader/teacher. But I don't believe he was the son of God or the savior of all mankind. He was a mortal man, plain and simple. I don't believe he has divine powers of any kind, but I don't deny the power that the idea of him has over people's lives.

I'm Atheist
Yes I believe Jesus lived, no question about it. He was just a man since God doesn't exist. I don't believe in Noah or Adam and Eve though.

probably someone nutty claiming to be the messiah that was predicted by the Jews. If you build it he will come. Son of God? Which God?
A nut case in the right place at the right time. That world needed a savior. Altruism leads to this kind of dilemma eventually.

There is compelling evidence that he didn't exist and compelling that he did. I have to say, there is more far more evidence in the he "didn't" column.
I'm not atheist, but I am not Christian either. My jury is still out. Either way I don't believe he was god. It's a weak god that has to become man in order to get people to believe.

Yes, I believe that Jesus existed, and I believe in the wisdom of his teachings and his moral authority. I reject that he was the son of god, performed miracles, or rose from the dead. People don't do this.
