I really want a tattoo, but don't know how much it will be.

Is there a website that can tell you?

Or are you a tattoo artist that can tell me? (£)

I'll post the links of the ones I like.

I want it quite small on the bottom of my leg.
Also, how much will it hurt?

I really like the first and fourth tattoos. I reckon that it will take a couple of hours for each one, but as I don't know where you live, it's hard to determine the cost. Tattooists charge on an hourly basis and that rate can vary considerably throughout the country. My local tattooist charges £40 per hour but in London it can be as high as £100 per hour or even higher. Check out your local tattooists, check out their galleries or portfolio so you can assess the tattoos they have done.

As for the pain aspect, tattoos do hurt, but each persons perception of pain is unique to them, for me it's a minor annoyance, but to others they can be in a lot of pain. One general rule though is the closer to bone the tattoo is going to be done, the more it hurts. Do not go and have a tattoo done after taking aspirin or any type of blood thinner or even alcohol, this can make you bleed more whilst having and after a tattoo which can lead to it not having the consistent colour which may require touching up later.

I have a few tattoos, don't listen to other people's judgement on tattoos, it's totally your decision.

In terms of pricing, go to a tattoo parlour with the design and get a quote. There isn't a universal pricing structure, but most tattoo artists charge by the hour, which can range from anything between £15 an hour (this will be a poor tattoo) to £200 an hour (this will look awesome).

Remember, cheap tattooists charge less because they aren't that skilled. Some tattoo parlours have photos of the work the tattooist has done in the past. Check these out and see if there are any in a similar style to what you want, and check on the general skill level of the artist. If you don't think they are that good, don't boher going to them, it's not worth being stuck with something that looks lame.

As for prices I would assume that varies shop to shop plus I'm from another continent so I have no idea what the average price would be nor how to convert it if I did.

I know in the USA that you have to be 18 to get a tat, with or without parental consent (that's a little known fact; most people think that with a parent's signature that you can get one but my understanding is that it's still illegal.) So that's something to check into. With all of the blood born illnesses going around these days you don't want to get something as personal (and I mean cutting of the skin, hygiene type personal) as a tattoo from anyone that doesn't have a problem with ignoring legal age limits because if they don't follow those laws what other laws don't they follow.

Anyway, other than that I can tell you that I've had some people say it didn't hurt at all, others say they wanted to pass out from the pain and lots who took their stance in between; I conclude that means that it depends on you, your tolerance for pain, the tattoo artist and if you've taken Tylenol or other pain killers before hand.

Also, one thing that you NEED TO KNOW now: you will get old. Your body will change. Don't get a tattoo ANYWHERE that could ever get bigger or smaller. Which basically limits you to ankles, feet, neck, wrists, hands, that type of thing. I'm just saying that you don't want your cute little butterfly that's 1" in diameter to end up shaped like a tangled slinky and 5" one place and 2" another and unrecognizable. Tattoo removal is EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And from what I hear, very painful. Unlike getting tattoos - where I've heard everything from "It hurt so bad I cried like a baby" to "I didn't feel a thing" to "It tickled." I've NEVER heard someone who'd had a tattoo removed say anything other than "OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!" Well, some of them added expletives but it was the same sentiment.

Just don't do it on the spur of the moment and if you do then get it done at a more than reputable place. If that means you have to wait 10 years (I'm not sure how old you are or what your area's age laws regarding tats are, if there are any) to do it then that means you've got 10 years to contemplate if you really want that tattoo in that place for all of eternity.

It's also important to get it somewhere that's easy to cover. For example, on your foot would be easy to cover dependent on which shoe you chose. Why you ask? Because it's not uncommon for employers to not choose people with tattoos everywhere. Wrong or right, like it or not that's a real issue to consider. Be smart sweet pea. :)

I find that tattoo artists vary and you should just go into a parlor and talk to the artist and find out what the cost would be.
As for the pain factor, that to depends on your pain tolerance, I got one of the small of my back and to me it felt like the pinch of when you get a blood test on the inside of your arm constantly (I hope that makes sense) and it was ( to me) tolerable, but I have also had two kids, and if you can endure labor pains then the pain of a tattoo is tolerable. Please keep in mind that is just my experience. I hope this helps you.

Don't do it. Men think women with tattoos will go to bed on the first date and decent men will be reluctant to approach you. And when you get older you will wonder why you ever wanted a tattoo...

The easiest way 2 determine cost is by going to the shop and speaking 2 the artist. Tell them what you want& where& how big or small.

i can't seem to get the photo of the last one but i like the first one out of the 3 i can see. i think it is a little large, though, and would look better on the shoulder blade rather than the small of your back.

It depends on the size or if they charge hourly. Location (city/state) also matters as well.
