I guess it would depend on what he was saying. I'm definitely not catholic, but I think that the last pope (John Paul II) was an outstanding Christian. I'd be proud to have a man like that as a spokes person for the Christian religion.

Sigh, ignore him and move on with my life.
Is there a lot of difference between him saying he speaks for ALL Christians and saying that only Catholics are saved? Either way, he claims to speak for God. Nonsense.

Laugh my head off.
This pope is so full of BS... I wish they would axe him and bring in someone who can make the badly needed update to Vatican II. Maybe undo some of the damage done in Africa (condoms are good- they may save you from a long, horrible death from AIDS). Or how about undoing some of the special breed of hate for the G&L community? Just a thought.
On a side note, the Quebec Bishop has apologized for many of the wrongdoings of the Catholic Church in Quebec. Too little, too late, frankly... but at least its a step in the right direction.

This is the United States of America, where every one has the right to practice the religion of their choice.
Since the Catholic Church seems to be government in itself, I would have to organize a militia and over throw that government!

I'd say No you don't, Quakers don't even have priests. Or more likely, shove it. I don't want a person that has to be OLD and MALE (aka sexist) telling the world what I want.

I'd be on the first plane to Vatican City. He wouldn't like to hear what I'd have to say, although I'd probably have to shout it while he was doing a Mass or something.
Then I'd be carted away by "good" Catholic guards, I'm sure.

Hello,
Nothing. He, like all the rest of us in the west can say what he wants.

The Papacy does believe that. In fact, they think they speak truth for all humans. Insanity at it's finest.

I would not worry about it unless he was to try to assert some kind of authority over all Christendom.
