Micky D's and Wendy's value meals!

Unless you're asking about $5 a meal deals then it's coupon city! I eat almost everyday on $5 for lunch. Believe me when I say expensive restraunts have excellent lunch specials and most are $4.50 to $6 I eat at Bennigan's on Wednesdays, ElChico on almost any day of the week and occasionally at Steak and Ale (love their salad bar!). The better restraunts even out their day by offering weekday luncheon specials to bring in the professional crowd. Other than that look around you immediate area for specials and sign up for these restraunts e-mail coupons and announcements. I get discounts, free hors d'oeuvres, and desserts all the time!

Eggs and toast for breakfast, grilled cheese for lunch, and fish or spaghetti for dinner. If you buy groceries for the week, you can make your own meals quite cheaply. Think tuna, spaghetti, or any pasta, salmon, ground beef, and salads. Takes some thinking because we first think steak, ff, and other things; subway sandwiches are quite filling and cheap, and healthy. Many things, but do the healthy thing, not fast food every day. Good luck and happy eating.

Make a list. Ramen noodles are cheap, great for salads, soup, pasta dishes. Eggs, bread, milk, cheese, bacon. Make breakfast, casseroles, ( mix eggs, milk, cheese, and pour over bread, saute bacon and add in, pour into greased pan and bake for 10 minutes and you have quiche), great hot or cold. Peanut butter, you have the bread, milk, so you have sandwiches. Or, listen up, to a can of chicken noodle soup, add a carrott, celery, onion, seasoning, can of chicken, 3 cans of water, cook and in about 30 minutes, you will have soup. Add in a raw egg a bit at a time, you have egg drop soup. Thicken this with flour and butter, cook, and you have cream of chicken soup or to put over toast.

brown rice and dry beans.
grow a garden.
it's pretty easy to survive on much less than that. brown rice and dry beans are really cheap. but you have to have a way to cook them.
for other things like fruit or veggies, buy what is on sale really cheap (because it's plentiful/in season or going rotten) at the grocery store).

you can eliminate a lot of the cost of your food by buying store branded things, like pasta, sauces, etc. also, try to buy things that aren't fully processed into ready-to-eat, because they are more expensive. if you are willing to spend extra time on prep, then you will be able to save TONS by just doing the extra steps yourself. good luck!
