Life has no purpose Jeff, all we can do is make our own purpose. Our purpose might make a difference or none at all. Some people find it earlier then others, some people never find it, while others get tired of trying to find a purpose.

You asked a question people have been asking for centuries. Although, it may seem that life is pointless, you can still learn, and have fun. You can try to make this pointless life a little better for someone else, or you can try to make it better for yourself. It's up to you and that's the beauty of life.

If you were nothing but rich and happy, would you value being rich and happy, or would you take them for granted? If you give 10 dollars to a rich man and 10 dollars to a bum, who is going to value the 10 dollars more? Obviously the rich man would think it's pennies, while the bum would probably feel very appreciative. God does things for a reason. Sometimes He allows bad for the greater good. If you truly want to know why people around the world have terrible families and die all the time from hunger I can give you a good source. It's 29 pages long though. But you asked a question that involves a very complex answer.

For a Christian person the purpose of life is serve God. That doesn't mean you simply sit at home and pray all day. You should go around and reach out to people. tell them that Jesus is there to save them and that they must repent. Also a Christian has a purpose to make themselves more perfect every day. We must look back on our actions every day and see what we could have done that would have pleased God more.

If you are an atheist you could say that your purpose in life is to have family and kids for example. Its to procreate and have offspring before you die. Or another atheist may say that the purpose of living is to experience as much as possible in the world. I think those are futile goals in life because any time your family could die for some accident and everything you lived for will be gone. And with experiencing stuff, at some point you get old and not able to experience anymore.

The purpose of life then is living and working up to pleasure and happiness.
Why everyone isn't happy and rich? Well, the rich people who are stingy make sure of that. And there wouldn't be anybody working and it all would fail.
Good Q. You know, the book Small Gods by Terry Pratchett is a fantasy take explaining some of these things.

I got you! First of all, I think everyone asks the same question that you just has asked here at some point of his/her life. So this is a totally normal question. I just give you a somewhat laconic (means brief) answer.

Second of all, have you heard "Maybe I am thankful for the bad day I had, because that means I’ve had better days".Billyee.

Third of all, have you also heard"Life is not fair, get used to it" Bill Gates.

Lastly, people can be all happy and rich. It is all relative! God gives us something wonderful called a "choice" that who we want to be & how we live our lives. Being rich and happy is a state of mind. Several years ago, I met a farmer in Brazil, who thinks himself as a rich and very happy person, even many people consider him as the struggling one & I also have a very rich relative lives in misery. So I hope it helps you a little bit to ponder. I know you laughing at my answer, because it wasn't a laconic one.

What Is The Purpose

of Your Life?

It's amazing how much corporate and educational America teaches that "we must have a goal and a purpose" for whatever they are about. Every where you look there are mission statements and goal statements and objective statements, etc. With all that focus on a purpose, isn't it amazing that it never really gets down to the individual and his/her life? Oh yes, an individual person can have short term and long term goals for careers or family or education or finances or hobbies or exercise, etc. Perhaps you have some for yourself regarding these things. But the question remains, WHAT ABOUT YOUR ENTIRE LIFE - WHAT IS THE ULTIMATE PURPOSE TO THAT??? Are you going to take, trophies or bank accounts or homes or cars or careers or family members or pleasure or "fun" times, with you after you die? What will your life mean after you die?

The purpose of life is what each and everyone of us ascribes to it. No doubt, it will be different for each of us.

It is our responsibility to identify that purpose and live it. I am an atheist. I do not have any beliefs in any gods. I live my life as best I can. I love my family, and friends as best I can, and try to leave the world a better place than when I was born into it.

Good luck finding your purpose. I cannot tell you, and neither can any god.

Well, personally I'm completely happy without a God. I don't need one to be happy. There are so many other things in life that can make you happy. And if you look at animals their point in life is to reproduce and keep their species living on. Humans are animals too...

To find the truth which is to become that person that is full of love, treating people like you would want to be treated. Meditate and open all your chakra centers and allow your crown chakra to illuminate its thousand pedals until you are one with the universe and then and only then will you find out what the mystics speak of.
