I'm going to say yes..... not knowing exactly the situation.

You tend to eat better, but not as frequently... and probably not as much. There are no fast food places in boot camp. You don't get a chance to eat whenever you feel like it... you don't have time. And, while meals are not force-fed to you, they are not leisurely convivial dinners. They are rather rushed... again because you don't have much time.

Then there will be the PT. It's not going to knock you down to 5% body fat, but it will probably take off a few pounds if they're easily shed.

Besides, you're wintering in Great Lakes. You'll be marching or running everywhere. The cold and exertion will work off some pounds.

But keep in mind, the Navy doesn't train foot soldiers. There aren't very many Navy ratings that are assigned to combat. And those that are, are specially trained... and they DO lose fat and put on muscle. Relax... you have to apply for those assignments.

So, since you're not trained for actual combat, the Navy tends to place a little more emphasis on your mind than your body. Sure, you'll have to stay fit, but they don't expect every sailor to do trathlons or to become SEALs.

You might.
Remember, muscle weighs more than fat. Do not worry about a number-but how you feel and how tight your buns are
You will run everywhere, and do tons of sit-ups and stuff. If you are out of shape, you will be in pain-with no relief.
You will get about 3-4 hours of sleep a night, and be yelled at non-stop.
Remember this: they are finding out what you are made of. Can you withstand stress and deprivation and still function? Can you think outside your comfort zone? You want to be INVISIBLE IF YOU CAN. Don't excell, don't fail, don't whine or complain, just shut up and do your job.
I was 31 yo, running every day and weighed 105 when I signed up. I had to gain 10lbs to be able to go in. Then I was the same weight but a lot tinier when I got out. (size 4.)
I felt wonderful and exhausted. PROUD OF MYSELF! I had great friends and wonderful memories.
No one knew I had a husband or son waiting for me at home. I didn't want them to get any information they could use to hurt me.
Good luck.You can do this.

i'm a Fedex courier and function (interior the previous) dropped at a Naval Base. you do no longer say no count if your buddy is interior the states or foreign places. foreign places you like a actual address, you won't be able to use APO or FPO provides. i'm assuming your buddy is interior the states because of the fact which you're saying he's a recruit. My adventure right here might desire to selection from base to base so do no longer take it as gospel that that's what's going to happen. My naval adventure is likewise ahead of the greater severe risk-free practices in modern tension. yet, I certainly have extra for occasion to the united statessomething-or-different i might in basic terms ask the shelter on the maingate which pier the deliver substitute into at, power out to it and function the sailor on the stairs sign for it. different stuff that went someplace unique ie: PX, admin, wellbeing facility, i might supply there. Letters to man or woman sailors i might might desire to offer to the naval placed up workplace and that they might make the main suitable transport. desire that facilitates.

If they are not too fat, they may actually gain weight.
Once I got a job doing heavy physical labor. After a couple of months, I was less fat but heavier. Muscle is heavier than fat. When a person of moderate weight gains muscle, he/she doesn't necessarily lose weight.
