Creation of Iraq's civil war? As if those people havent been killing each other for a thousand years, we are simply the referee for something that has been going on forever.....
Also if the US wanted a war with Iran it would have done so by now.
Whatever the situation is in Iraq now I can assure you that is is still better than when Saddam was in control.
What exactly is a "peacemaker?" Is that someone who never uses force period? Or....If someone is fighting me and I shoot them, and then there is peace am I now a "peacemaker" and therefore blessed?
My suggestion to you is to stop talking until you have read about 500 more books, preferably textbooks.

I guess it depends on your take of "Peacemaker".
Today as throughout history, at times the only way to a Peace is through violence (war). Hitler would Have slaughtered millions and occupied more lands if the Allies had not fought him.
For some "Peacemaking" is to never engage in hostilities, and always engage diplomatically. While for others it means removing the threat to Peace, by whatever means necessary. And in between most people lie.
To imply because one is Christian, one must ALWAYS turn the other cheek in condescending. If your going to use the words of Jesus, picking one sentence and implying it is the "say all" is shallow, and a crappy way to argue a point, you are just letting everyone know, you are not even interested in the other point of view. That is no better than those who choose a couple of verses from the Quaran and say God wants them to kill all infidels.
Jesus also did say to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves, is that not what we are doing now? Is this not another form of "Peacemaking"?

Unfortunately, we live in a world where the meek currently get plowed under. In the words of Buffert T. Pusser, talk softly, and carry a big stick. Secondly, Bush didn't create their civil war, it's a natural process of a struggling democracy, look how bloody our own was in the US. Finally, war with Iran, no, the theory was a domino effect from Iraq and Afghanistan. With them both being free, Iran's college youth should start their own civil war, and demand access to the 21st century, they really want their MTV, and stage illegal satellite dishes all over their roofs.

Jesus said "peacemakers". Not "peace lovers". There's a big difference. And one of the first to recognize Jesus' divinity was a Roman soldier at the foot of the cross. He's the one quoted as saying "Truly this was the Son of God".

And we're in Iraq because, in the words of the articulate President, "Jesus is on our side."

Nice quote!
We got envolved in a war that is older than our country. Our goal is peace, we're trying to stop people from fighting.

Don't you realize that it's for peace that we're over there?
Do you want to be subject to terrorist attacks ON OUR OWN SOIL? I don't.
