These are the sites I use:
http://favoriterun.com/
http://traininglog.runnersworld.com/landingpage.aspx

They both allow you to map routes and find distance, etc. It's a little hard to do if you're not on a road though.

I also bought the nike+ ipod sports kit, that has a little chip for your shoe and a receiver for your ipod. Then it tells you the distance, your pace, etc, and when you hook your ipod up to the computer, you can have it automatically send the info to a log on nikeplus.com. This sport kit doesn't have to be used only in nike shoes. I bought a shoe pouch from http://www.shoepouch.com/index.html that I use on my Brooks running shoes, and it works great!

there are 2 sites, go to www.gmap.com and you can make routes on streets and it will give you the mileage.
go to www.usatf.org there is a page that will give you thousands of routes with distances for locations in the U.S.

You could try the nike+ipod thing that you put in your shoe. It tracks how many miles you run.

Sorry if someone has already mentioned this site, but mapmyrun.com will do that.

You could also use Yahoo! or Google Maps to find out...but mapmyrun is great!

Good luck :-)
